Atera Strada E-bike towball mounted rack
Just as an update for anyone reading this thread - I've fitted and removed the rack half a dozen times now and it has become much easier to lock it on. I am now completely happy with the rack. Thanks for everyone's advice and interest.

Atera Strada E-bike towball mounted rack
- Hello from germany - here to make Nyon-Users happy(er) :)
Hello Christoph - I realise that this is an old thread and maybe you no longer have an interest in the Bosch Nyon but just in case... I have tried your Java program but it simply repeatedly asks me for my Bosch log-in details as if in a loop. I am sure that I am inputting the correct password and user name. I'm using the Windows 64 bit version. I know that the Bosch web page has been improved since you created your script but I find that I cannot export all the info I want and so thought I would try your Java program. Any help or advice would be welcome if you have time. Thanks, Mike- Transporting batteries when off bike
Agreed, but it is a very expensive battery.- Transporting batteries when off bike
I'm wondering how best to transport my Bosch 400Wh frame type battery in a vehicle when off the bike. I'd like to put it in a box to prevent it rattling around and to prevent anything shorting the terminals but I can't seem to find anything ready-made the right size (330x100x100mm). Unless anyone can suggest something suitable I guess I'll have to cobble something together out of a cardboard box. Ideas anyone? Mike- Atera Strada E-bike towball mounted rack
Thanks for all the input. Problem is now solved with lots of help from the supplier (Roofbox). Yes - I was doing everything right with regards to key position and pressing the button. Yes - the rack was sitting correctly on the towball. The final solution was to change the towball to an extended neck type and then literally stand on the handle to get it to reach the first locking position. Apparently the latest production of these racks are not 'pre-stretched' like they used to be so the first few uses require a lot of force to get the handle to lock. I probably fall into the wimp category of user at 65 kg and of retirement age but having to put all 65 kg on the handle was a surprise. Whilst I'm happy that I've now got a useable rack it seems very poor that the customer has to do what seems to me should be the final part of the factory production process. The supplier was very helpful in enabling me to solve the problem and I feel sorry for them that they probably have to provide such help to almost everyone that buys one of these racks. Sadly there seems to be no adjustment possible. This would appear to be the one major drawback with this rack. Mike- Atera Strada E-bike towball mounted rack
I bought an Atera Strada E-bike towball mounted rack but cannot get it locked onto the towball. The locking handle will not move down far enough to reach the rachet that enables it to lock. With the handle down as far as great force will shift it the rack feels solidly immovable but the handle is still sticking up at about 45° and the mechanism is not locked. I have been in contact with the supplier who has been very helpful offering advice and they even sent me a new bolt-on towball to change the towball from a normal to an extended neck type but to no avail. The supplier did mention that they have had some returns citing the same problem but they claim that when they try them they have no problem. It looks like I'll have to return the rack - a pity because it is very well made and suits what I want. Just thought I'd post on here to see if a) anyone else has experienced a similar problem and b) anyone got a solution? Mike- Aged newcomer needs advice
Thanks Woosh - your bike looks good but we had become sold on the Bosch centre drive system. Mike- Aged newcomer needs advice
Thanks for the info Torchy and Batholith. After a lot of searching and a few test rides we've opted for the Trek Verve+ which is 20.5 kg with battery and about 18 kg without. A bit above what we wanted to pay but the lightest large wheeled ebike we could find that was not very silly money! Mike- Aged newcomer needs advice
Hi, I'm interested in finding an ebike that I can lift onto a motorhome bike rack. This is proving to be difficult as my research (here and elsewhere) indicates that it is very difficult to find anything that weighs under about 21 kg with battery removed. Myself and wife each have a 'non e' Dahon folder that we bought 10 years ago because it is light (about 15 kg) and I can readily get it onto the rack. We don't actually need the folding ability. Age has taken its toll and myself and Mrs would like to be able to get up the hills without having to get off and walk, hence the search for an ebike. I've considered retrofitting a kit to the Dahon but it seems difficult to find anything suitable and the end result would be a bike weighing 20 kg+! I've seen the Powabyke F100 which seems attractive at 17 kg. Can anyone offer any experience of this machine or of Powabyke as a company? (Edit: We've test ridden the Gtech lowstep and whilst it is nice and light we didn't like the 'on-off' power delivery.) Mike - Hello from germany - here to make Nyon-Users happy(er) :)
