  1. Some Halfords branches allow to hire an ebike for around 48 hours so you can try that first. I had the same dilemma, but ended up getting the bike anyway. Haven’t regretted it at all. My 15 mile commute to central London takes anything from 1hr 5mins to 1hr 10mins - mostly it’s waiting at traffic lights that slows you down. I also do a lot of peddling above 15.5mph under my own steam which probably pushes my average speed up a bit but you get the bonus of more exercise. Not enough to need a shower once I arrive at the office though.
  2. Hey everyone, Just wanted to say thanks to you all for the advice - ended getting the Cube, and last week managed a couple of commutes into work on it. Really good fun, and able to do with a just a quick freshen up in arrival. Legs felt it a couple days afterwards, but I’m sure I’ll be on top form in no time! 15.5mph limit is a little restrictive (some flat and downhill stretches I’m under my own power up to about 20/21mph), but at least it gives me a chance to get a bit of a work out too! Happy with the purchase and it’s already paying for itself on saved commuting costs. Mark
  3. Thanks, that’s reassuring. It’ll be into central London, so should be fairly flat most of the way. Just got to avoid all the bad drivers out there with cyclists in their sights...
  4. Hi everyone, I live in Surrey, 39, looking to get an ebike for my commute to work in central London rather than getting a train to keep fit and save on the extortionate train fares! Tried an ebike last weekend at Halfords, loved it, and getting slightly obsessed... Hoping that the ebike commute can be done in about an hour (15 miles one way), and allow me to arrive without needing a shower, but not sure how to answer those questions without getting the bike, at the moment. Been looking at the Cube Acid Hybrid One 500, but realise that there are a ton of options out there. Well, that’s me! Looking forward to finding out more on the forum
