  1. Brompton Nano Hi tex Thanks for posting your experience with the Brompton Nano - glad it is all going well. We now have a 4Ahr battery which is small enough to fit in the rear pocket of the Brompton bag and only weighs 1.5Kg, we are out of stock at the moment but are expecting some in in a couple of weeks - get in touch if you are interested. Martin The Electric Wheel Company http://www.electricwhel.co.uk
  2. Motor ring Hi We have some replacement rings - but it is a "bit of a bugger" fitting them and requires a special tool (which we have) or we can sell you a new motor to swap the inners into your wheel. Feel free to give me a call. Martin Jackson Home page 0845 094 2735
  3. 4Ah Battery Our 4Ah weighs 1.5Kg and costs £200. Martin The Electric Wheel Company
  4. Link not working Jerry The link in your post doesn't seem to be working - or is it just me!
  5. Brompton Nano Hi We now offer the Nano Brompton with a 4Ah battery which fits in the rear small pocket of the brompton bag and only weighs 1.5kg and should give enough range for your commute and if it's a bit marginal - you could charge it midway. We can build the nano into any Brompton including the titanium ones - but I don't think it's really worth all the extra money - you don't save that much weight. Better option is to go for a light bike to start with - M3L is what we recommend, as with the motor - you don't really need the extra gears and front bag means you dont really need the rack. Anticipating Brompton's price rise (£60 from January) we bought a small number of bikes at the end of last year and so can still offer the complete bike at the moment for last years price - basically £1,385 (plus delivery) for bike, bag, battery and conversion, or £1,539 for the same but with the 10Ah battery. An extra charger would be £55. We can supply through cyclescheme, we sell you the bike through the scheme for £1,000 and the battery to you personally (not in the scheme) for the remainder. If your company uses our paperwork - there is no charge - if using cyclescheme (or similar provider) who charge us 10% - we add £99 to the price to reflect their cost on us. Get in touch if you need any more information Martin The Electric Wheel Company Home page
  6. Has anyone lost a nano Brompton - there is one on ebay at the moment without battery or charger which is always a little suspicious. Brompton M6l Electric Folding Bike on eBay (end time 08-Jan-11 14:01:20 GMT)
  7. Possible stolen nano Brompton Has anyone lost a nano Brompton - There is an ebay listing for one at Brompton M6l Electric Folding Bike on eBay (end time 08-Jan-11 14:01:20 GMT) Just always a bit suspicious when a bike is being sold without the battery and charger!
  8. Motor judder Hi From our experience of the motors and sound of your problem - it is most likely to be a bad connection of one of the 3 wires to the motor. Sorry a few days late - sounds like you have already fixed the problem. Martin The Electric Wheel Company
  9. 4Ah Battery Ours is a 4AH Lithium Iron Phosphate - using 5c rated prismatic cells (x 12) to give up to 20A discharge. Looks like the ping battery with blue heatshrink and includes BMS. Will take and post a picture - but fits perfectly in brompton rear pocket.
  10. Smaller batteries Hi Dan The 5ah battery from ping. Is it still rated to deliver 17-18 amps. We have a 4ah pack which firs in the back pouch of the brompton bag. Buy we had to use higher power and more expensive base cells to get the current
  11. Radial v Cross wheel lacing Hi Andrew - could you post the advice from A to B re radial spokes - I didn't see that article. For the Nano Brompton - we took some advice from a pro bike shop that the way to go to deal with the torque generated by the motor was a cross pattern but with the cross not "laced" ie spokes not crossed over each other as there was not really enough room. We were also advised that the outside facing spoke (which apparently can carry the most load) should be angled backwards on the rim so that it was this set of spokes under tension when the motor was pulling. Martin the electric wheel company
  12. Brompton undrilled rims Hi Jerry You mention you are getting an undrilled Brompton rim - could you let me know where from - is it SJS? We have a few 36 hole motors that we would love to use but couldn't get these a while back. Thanks!
  13. Forks We would also not recommend grinding the axle down. We have done a couple of conversions on titanium brompton forks and have not had any problems with the adjustment needed. The Titanium forks are in fact more springy than the steel ones and need to be pulled out further than the steel forks to end up in the right place. No issues with grinding out the cutouts either.
  14. Spelling error Integration delay rather than inebriated delay!!
  15. Pedelec rules We found this problem with speed sensing pedelecs. There is an inebriation delay whilst the controller works out what us going on. We refuse to supply pedelec kits without brake cut out levers as we don't like the idea of people not stopping when coming up To junctions. It does make you think that the European pedelec laws are a bit daft. You must have pedelec function but you do not have to supply cut out brake levers.
