What is your experience or knowledge of that company. please? After your suggestion, I've had some email correspondence with the company, and I have questions about their credibility.

Seeking ebike/trike to rent
The battery is not the issue. With many systems, including mine, the batteries, controller and motor comprise an integrated system. The components must be compatible. as Information is exchanged between them during operation. Trying long-distance to find components compatible with the motor would be an exercise for which I don't have time just now. My drive system includes batteries which are allowed on flights. The issue is that the trike cannot be taken down to a size acceptable on passenger aircraft. Surface shipping would cost more than £1200.

Seeking ebike/trike to rent
Yes, thanks, I found much the same, and I’ve considered buying a unit from a shop for my tour with an agreement that the shop could re-sell it for me after. But I have bought a high-end e-trike recently, and another large cash expense for me now would take my savings down to a level I’m not comfortable with. I looked into bringing my recumbent e-trike with me, from Canada, but customs and carrier regulations are a challenge to that plan, and my departure date is soon approaching. I posted my request thinking that a reader here who has more than one e-bike or trike, as I do, might be interested in a private agreement by the week or month. If I don’t find something before I leave Canada on June 8, I’ll visit bike shops in Ireland and the UK and ask. I attach here stock photos of the models that I have at home, a Vision LWB USS, and a Catrike 559. Great rides, both. Very different but each with its own pleasures and advantages.

Seeking ebike/trike to rent
I am planning a cycling tour in the UK and Ireland this summer. My attempts to bring my etrike from Canada have run afoul of customs and other regulations. I am looking for an electric bike or trike, preferably recumbent, to rent for June and July, possibly into August. I welcome any offers or recommendations, thank you.

Bafang conversion near Gatwick?
Hello, I am seeking a bike shop in the region of Gatwick airport or Brighton, one that is familiar both with recumbent trikes and with installation of Bafang mid-drive motor systems. I am planning a several months tour in Britain, Ireland and Europe beginning at the end of April. I am preparing to bring a Catrike 559 to England with me, boxed for the flight, to have it set up and fitted there with a Bafang 250W mid-drive, to meet UK and EU requirements. I am looking for a shop to set up the Catrike and to install a Bafang mid-drive system, soon after April 27. I am asking for recommendations for a shop in the Gatwick or Brighton region that has experience and skill to do this work well. Thank you.

250W assist enough for mountain touring?
Thanks, again. Your reply is particularly helpful as an important part of my tour will be in visiting archaeological sites and museums in what archaeologists refer to as the Franco-Cantabrian region (SW France and Northern Spain), with extensive evidence for early human habitation. So, your information is helpful, that a 250W system is adequate for travel in that region.

250W assist enough for mountain touring?
——————————— Thanks for your reply and for your suggestions. What I am most interested in is riders’ experience - to know how folks in the UK and EU get along touring in hilly and mountainous country with a 250W drive. I plan to ride a Catrike 559 with a Rohloff Speedhub 14, and likely a Bafang 250W mid-drive. The total weight for trike, baggage and me likely will be about 120kg. There is too much importance for me in this tour to risk having it all derailed by a breach of regulations.

250W assist enough for mountain touring?
At my home in British Columbia, Canada, the max allowable for an ebike drive is 500W. So that's what almost everyone has. I am planning a long tour in the UK, Ireland and EU, beginning at the end of April. I would bring an ebike with me, but I can't find a 250W drive here to install on my recumbent for the tour. So, I am looking at either buying a recumbent ebike in the UK, or bringing my recumbent with me to England, and having a Bafang 250W mid-drive installed there. But, as I am accustomed to 500W for touring, I am interested to know how folks in the UK and EU get along touring in hilly and mountainous country with a 250W drive. Thank you.
