Carrera Subway Torque Sensing Bottom Bracket
Thanks Saneagle. I've done those checks of the controller and cables plus have carefully removed the BB but can only confirm it looks fine, ie no visible damage where the cable attaches to the unit. I couldn't see anything else to check. Is there? The only cable near the BB is the one that attaches to it. The others drop out of a hole in the frame behind the controller bulge the pass externally under the BB. They all look fine. One thing I found was that when I first reassembled ît I just did the BB cups up hand tight. That gave me odd intermittent power but only on the drag back of the pedal stroke. Next day I torqued it up properly to the 35Nm spec and got 15 mini of almost standard use but then it cut out and nothing after that. So, I'm stumped!

Carrera Subway Torque Sensing Bottom Bracket
Hey, I hope someone can help me with this. I've the 2021 Subway 2.0 that has a torque sensor in the BB. I came off my bike and bent the right side crank arm to had to change it. After my accident the motor worked fine and I could limp home. After I changed the cranks I've had an odd experience with the motor mostly not kicking in. On one test it worked for 15 minutes, it was a bit jumpy but then it stopped and never worked after that. The head unit shows me battery power and speed (I've read it reads it from the hub) so I'm guessing those connections are all fine. I've checked the cable from the BB sensor to the controller and it's intact. Also its all clean and dry where the cables and controller are in the frame. So, does anyone have any tips for other checks on the torque sensoring bottom bracket? Or any experience of how easily they fail? I'd happily just buy a replacement BB but there aren't many and prices are quite high. It's part no EBBS20 T2. Also, does it have to be a like for like replacement or could I try the bafang equivalent? It seems to have the same six pin connector. Anyway, tips and advice appreciated. I really can't face any faff taking it in to Halfords so really want to avoid that if possible. Michael

Carrera Suntour battery issue
Hi everyone. I picked up this cheap battery with the aim of it being a reserve. It has around 80% charge and will power the bike Carrera Subway 2. Battery SOH shows two flashing lights. However it will not take a charge. I know the charger is good as it charges my other battery just fine. Can anyone suggest how to diagnose the charging port and internal connector? Also, morw for curiosity, any ideas as to what the small ON switch is in the pic? Thanks, and be gentle with me as I'm a new to ebikes.

Whoosh ?
Great, thanks. And what’s your view on the smaller VLCD6 vs VLCD5 display? For me I’d prefer smaller as long as it’s reliable.

Whoosh ?
Yeah I saw the 48v bit. I think I know the advantages but that limits battery choice in the current market a little bit, is that right? You provided a link to those UPP batteries previously, are they sound and just be bought (with the right connector) then just hooked up to the kits?

Hey Woosh , is it your Tongsheng kits you’re referring to above? I took a look at Gospade but they won’t sell to individuals any more. Anyway, back to the kits, do the Tongsheng play okay with either external or square taper BBs. The bike I’ve got my eye on is the Voodoo Agwe, so might try to match that with your lightest kit and one of those UPP 10Ah bottle style batteries. Any thoughts or advice on that?

Whoosh Crank-Drive Tongsheng Kit review.
Thanks for the advice. I've emailed them. Have you used your sample unit enough to get a sense of it? I'm interested in responsiveness from a standing start and robustness. I'd only be commuting 8 miles each way. My objective is to avoid breaking a sweat, which currently happens due to two slight inclines.

Whoosh Crank-Drive Tongsheng Kit review.
Hey everyone, that Gospade system looks interesting and I like the bottle style battery. I might be missing something but I can't find it for sale in the UK. Can anyone help with that? Or do you have it Woosh ?

Whoosh ?
Okay, I'll look out for those on your site. I'd still prefer that special down tube that takes a battery but those bottle kits look interesting. I saw the Cytronix C1 on the web but it's sooo expensive!

Ah, thanks for that. I tried an Orbea Gain locally the other day and after lots of research quite favour the hidden battery style. You mention the availability of the kit but the special frame to slot the battery in is another matter, I guess I'll have to wait but I'm an impatient so and so! Will there be a point where you have all the parts in in Southend and could sell the whole lot unassembled? Or at least frameset and ebike bits? I'm fine building standard bikes.

Hi everyone. I’ve been looking at the Woosh Karoo but then I saw that pick a few posts back. Is that the new model Karoo? If so then what’s the update on when it will be available to buy? Thanks.
