I fitted it to my Gocycle - Kabrus Disc Padlock. ...I have further mods in mind...

After a bit of cutting plastic - I have managed to allow space to fit an alarmed Disc Lock to my bicycle... Feels a lot more secure now..

Hi.. I also live in Bradford...and I also own a Juicybike Sport...not kidding! However my one is not on the road - its in the kitchen. I upgraded to a different bike - I got on a discount.. The Juicybike was very powerful as I remember - no problems getting up hills at all - just my brakes need tuning. //BTW I bought mine in 2009 so it is probably an older model... still works...

I think u just need number plates and wing mirrors to make it legal. good one.

Maybe it is not necessary...after all many cyclist circle the globe without major incident. I guess motorcyclists need it because of the incredible speeds and accelerations they cover...

Well...I think it will be ok. I am not such a perfectionist! Besides at the price I got it at...it would have been a crime not to buy it!!

Yeah...that paint looks kinda ball-busting. The good thing about the gocycle is that comes apart ...so I guess it would be easy to paint. I could just lay down some newspaper in my kitchen and paint each part. It could be wise..I guess..

We know with electric bikes we can get up to some speed, and if we have to cope with other traffic. Have you considered wearing protective gear? The more I think about it, the more sensible it seems. After all why take the risk? I think a protective jacket would be good?? What about this??

In my head the paint job looks amazing. However in reality.... It will be a complete mess...with paint flaking off under the sun...and badly finished areas.. Would be cool to get it professionally done...but don't know if that is possible. A kinda black with flames..

Yeah - I think I will keep it as it is. I don't want to get dragged down into 'miserable' street wisdom. I kinda like the glamour. I hope to use it for commuting to work, and checking out the local countryside. Thanks Roger the Dodger.

Hey.. I have just ordered a Gocycle (it was at a great discount). It was exactly the bike I was looking for because of its weight...16kg. Now I love the look of it - it looks high tech and futuristic.. The thing is...where I live...there is a bit of crime..so we have to be careful. I don't want to come across too flashy..but I still want to use the tech.. So I figured I may camouflage it by giving it a new paint job? I found this as a starter.. Anybody got any recommendations? My solution for locking the battery whilst leaving it with the bike. You need two items: 1. A strong bag, my preference is the Ortlieb Back Roller Plus: http://www.ortlieb.co.uk/images/images_big/backrollpl.jpg 2. A locking cage to secure the bag, my preference is the Pacsafe 55L backpack protector: http://www.pac-safe.com/media/product/product_image/medium/1960_11_1567_11_1147_anti-theft.jpg Of course if you are going to the gym - take your battery with you (put it in the locker). But maybe there is the occasion where this solution fits. Hope this is helpful! :o

Heh Yes..I am smiling at some your points raised!! I am thinking about all those old Chinese people who live to a ripe old age. They just seem to be really chilled out. They drink tea and eat fish, and smile a lot. Love it.

I have been thinking about this for a while. I asked my supplier, and the replacement value of a battery is £200..so it is definitely worth a form of security. I think the current security that I rely on, is that of the mysterious image of pedelecs. I think a lot of people don't really know what that large block of battery is, let alone if it is valuable. However, being bitten many times, I have come up with a solution to lock the battery. Hope it works!
