Are they still available please? Thanks Rich
  2. Hi I have just been given a Hardrock bike and I love the look of the bike. I want to convert to a rear hub motor as I have done several of these. However, when I look at the drop-outs they are small and I wondered whether it would be too much torque through them. Is it possible to extend them? On other bikes I have converted I have had a friend make torque plates but he doesn't want to because he thinks they are too small. I was going to put 1500 watt rear motor. Thanks Rich
  3. Thanks for finding that for me, they seem to be non-existent! Rich
  4. Thanks I'll look at the Weinmann.
  5. Hopefully someone can help. I bought a lovely fat bike the other day and it is amazing fun but going up hills is a drag and so I also acquired 1500 watts of power. Unfortunately I didn't do my research! So the fat bike has a 32 spoke wheel and the fat bike has a 36 spoke wheel. I have done some searches but I am not finding many fat bike wheels with 36 spoke holes. 1. Does anybody know of a possible supplier please? 26" wheel with 3.5" rim. 2. Is it possible to blank in the holes on the electric wheel and then re-cut 32 spoke holes in it? 3. Any other suggestions? Thanks Rich
  6. Thanks for the reply. Will look to get one in the new year. Looks a useful bit of kit to have in an electric bike toolbox. Rich
  7. Thanks for the full and complete reply. Point taken - but I would love to go faster or with more power uphill when I am off-road. Rich
  8. I try to have a look at other sites but it got confusing with the amount of options. There is no display with the controller. Thanks Rich
  9. Hi Hi This is the link to the battery: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/48V-20Ah-Li-oin-Triangle-Lithium-Battery-1000W-Electric-Bike-Battery-3A-Charger/183604870719?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 No label on the controller. No white wires connected. Thanks Rich
  10. Hi I purchased an electric wheel kit from ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/26-Electric-Bicycle-Motor-Conversion-Kit-500W-1000W-Front-Rear-Wheel-E-Bike-Hub/352709844158?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 The kit is a 1000w motor running 48v and I have a 20a/h 48v battery attached to it. However, it feels significantly underpowered and testing the top speed I am getting 25mph. Someone suggested changing the controller. Is it possible to simply pick a controller, wire it correctly and that will help or do I need to do something else? Thanks Rich
  11. Hi Thanks for the reply. This is the motor I purchased: 26" Electric Bicycle Motor Conversion Kit 500W/1000W Front Rear Wheel E Bike Hub | eBay 1000W Max speed: 45~48km/h. 500W Max speed: 25 km/h. Want to convert your regular pedal bike into a motorized bike?. Look no further, we have found you the perfect conversion kit. You can install those for added security. www.ebay.co.uk Not sure if I can change the controller? It is fitted to the rear. My smart phone has LineageOS installed and it runs with a version of Open Street Maps. I will take a look to see if that works. Thanks for all the other ideas. Rich
  12. Thanks I'll take a look. Rich
  13. Hi What's the best speedo I can buy for a bike please? Would love to have a mileage indicator for a journey and also overall mileage. Thanks Rich
  14. Thank you all for your answers. Time to fit a twist grip to the left hand side. Without your replies this might have gone badly wrong!
  15. Thanks for all the replies. The opinion seems to me to use gear shifters on the left and leave the thumb throttle in place. Is that because replacing a thumb throttle with twist throttle is difficult or illegal please?
  16. Thanks for that information and it is a very simple way of sorting the problem.
  17. I had a pedal sensor fitted but you can't control the amount of throttle.
  18. In the event that I might look stupid.... can you explain a bit more please? What is an SRAM gear shifter please and does it get in the way of the front cog shifter please?
  19. I tried this but when you do that your thumb has to stretch over the battery indicator panel. Makes it harder to use. Thanks for the reply though.
  20. Hi All I have just built my first e-bike and it is amazing fun. I have one issue in that the gears are thumb change and the throttle is also a thumb control. In Cornwall where there are more hills than the rest of the world combined (!), it is frustrating to try to change gears to a better gear for climbing said hill whilst trying to power the bike. Is it possible to convert the thumb throttle to twist please? I have 6 wires going into the thumb controller, some of which are battery management. I would like to put these into a different battery management controller, possibly on-board computer. Any recommendations please? And tomorrow I am starting to build a sidecar for the bike. Thanks for the help. Rich
