  1. Hi, I have been happily riding my Ezee Forza for the last 8 years however today it let me down! Both rows of the display console lights came on as normal but then I could not select a power level, the blue lights all remained off. If there is power to the console lights but the selector button is not working can I assume that the unit is faulty and needs replacing or is there another area of fault I should be looking at. All help appreciated Alan
  2. I live just a few miles further north on the Wakefield side of Barnsley and had similar problems to solve - a hill that I have to negotiate on the way back home from Wakefield is marked as 14%, there are other climbs that feel as steep or steeper but no road sign giving slope information!! My first EBike (36v 9Amp 250watt hub motor) was hard work on the steeper climbs, I had real problems keeping going, at even 4 MPH the power just had no impact on the climb and I had to work very hard to make it to the top and the throttle had no impact at all - ie the usual problem of a hub motor passing its peak. However my next bike was the Ezee Forza Mk2. What an amazing difference I can climb at a good speed with noticeable support from the motor - if I go from assist level 3 to 4 to 5 you can actually feel a kick of power; its just like having another set of gears! I only use the throttle if setting off e.g. at a junction on a slope to help get me going. I don't know how Ezee manage to do it but they have a hub motor bike that is very good at climbing - perhaps John can explain!!!!
  3. Thanks for trying KirstenS we had a similar response from a French friend - perhaps being idiomatic it does not have a direct translation. Thanks for the suggestion Trex, it does flow better as one sentence.
  4. Can any of you super bright well travelled people out there help us. We are trying to get an accurate French translation for an English phrase but we are not sure which of our possibilities is the most accurate or indeed if there is a better more accurate translation out there!!! The English phrase that we want to translate is: "Scars remind us where we have been . They don't have to dictate where we are going " Our best attempts at French have given us the two following possibilities: "Les cicatrices nous rappellent d'où nous venons. Mais ne dictent pas où nous allons." OR "Les cicatrices nous rappellent sùr nous avons été mais ne dirigent pas eù nous allons." Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks Alan
  5. Thanks for the help everyone - the image of the Kudos certainly looks OK, thanks Jimod and thank you Flecc for the confirmation of the voltage needs. Solution found will order asap. Alan
  6. Hi John Have just found the following picture taken to add to my record of all caravan items in case of a claim - forgot I had taken it!! Says that it is a Li-Ion charger model SHC - 8100LC and it looks as if it is a 2A rating. Not sure if this will help in the search but at least I have some more accurate information. 7. Yes it was 720 cycles and the improved Rush Trek model. Will ring Kudos in the morning to see if they have anything suitable. Thanks for your efforts. Alan
  8. Thanks Mike63 but they stopped importing bikes the year after I bought mine, shame as they had a good product and looked after customers. I do still have Stevens contact details Nr Lincoln but I thought a call one year + out of warranty would not be such a good idea. However if a repalcement is difficult to find without the make model etc then I will try and contct him. Thanks
  9. The only name on the casing is 'Velec' nothing that would indicate a model number. It is a long aluminium case that slides behind the seat post if that is any help! Alan
  10. Not a stupid question at all - if only I had the answer!!! The connector is a single pole but not sure of the size, Alan
  11. Hi All Have been happily using my Trek City EBike from 2000 cycles since 2009 and the LiFePo4 battery is still going strong - my regular 28 mile round trip still being achieved with battery power to spare! However I need HELP - getting ready for my next trip away in the caravan I discovered that I have managed to lose my charger!! Yes I know it sounds impossible but I have managed it. It may yet turn up at the back of the garage or in the freezer but I need a replacement before I go away next Wednesday!! Any suggestions of what I can buy to charge my 36v 9ah LiFePo4 battery and where I can order one from quickly!!! I have no idea how to translate battery size into charger specification so any form of idiot guide would be appreciated. Thanks Alan
  12. Try an Ebay search for 'Baggy cycling shorts men' lots of choice at a good range of prices - quality of inserts do vary however! Try here SPEG 'Terrain-S' Baggy MTB Cycle Shorts - CoolMax Pad managed to pick up some good clearance offers last year.
  13. If you have a rear pannier frame then you could try these: Abus UGH Rack Bracket - Only £18.49 - Rutland Cycling . You get three in the pack and they do give a secure side mounting. I use them for a cable lock but they will fit the D-Lock just as well. Hope this helps Alan Not sure if the above link will work but if you google "Abus UGH Rack Bracket" you will find several options!
