  1. Im looking at somehow installing a range extender on my cube reaction hybrid. It has the in frame battery but cube dont offer the kit themselves. If i bought another kit say from orbea and drilled into the frame would it still work or is there any software limitations from cube that would prevent it from working.
  2. TDSZ2 750w on trek marlin 5 new build but i have a 48v battery from a previous build I will use. I plan to flash with the original screen at first then upgrade to the KT LCD later on. The Bosch Active line plus is on a Carrera crossfuse but the bike is very used and looks to be derestricted so unsure if that would have caused any wear that will be an issue. Sane price on both all in. Which would be the better bike?
  3. The black wire that was pulled off was connected to a soldered blob that was on the wire sheath hence why i thought that was the case.
  4. Hey guys. Currently doing a Chinese controller conversion on my carrera vulcan e. I've been running it with just the phase wires and today decided to wire up the hall sensor wires so I can have speed. During my first attempt I accidentally ripped off the black hall wire so I decided to strip the whole wire back so I could try again but I found the black wire has disappeared and I now only have 5 wires. Beneath the plastic sheath of the main controller cable there is bare wire that twists around all the other 5 hall wires and 3 phase. Is this what the black wire was connected to and is it OK if I don't reconnect this to the controller. I've attached a pic of what ik looking at. The bare wire splayed out to the right is the one that was wrapped around everything.
  5. Hey guys. I have a vengeance e spec and the planetary gears are stripped inside the rear hub. What are my options regarding replacing them. Would a generic 36t planetary gear set fit or are they proprietary
  6. thank you. I want a minimum of 2” thick tyre so that should be ok. I think 27.5 has wider tyre choices so that could be a factor in my decision
  7. Hey guys . Looking for some guidance as to which wheel size I should go for on my first conversion. I will ride mainly on roads/bike lanes but these are quite rough in my area as often the bike lane to the side of the road is quite unpleasant to ride with the constant dips and road unevenness. The proper bike lanes aren't much better so I'm wondering whether I should get a 29" wheel (and bike) or a 27.5 I currently ride a crossfire e which is smooth but I feel all the bumps (maybe more as the forks are seized). The motor I plan to strap to the bike is either a 48v 500w brushless ot 36v 500w/750w geared. Thanks in advance
  8. As the title says i want to convert my current bike to an ebike where its primary use will be transporting me to and from a local train station. Im looking at a 1500w rear hub kit but i dont know what to do about battery placement. I will have to carry the battery about with me during the day where i will do approx 10 miles or more of walking so it needs to be a small/light battery. The other concern i have is security. The bike i wish to convert is a 2019 mid range mountain bike that cost me approx £300 but is worth close to £500. It is the shiny one out of the 10 or so bikes left at the train station so i am concerned about theft especially when ive put a few hundred pounds worth of electric goodness on it. I did have someone tell me not to bother converting it and to just get an electric skateboard which i could easily carry around with me all day as it'd be too much of a risk leaving the bike there based on it being the most expensive one and looking more attractive to thieves.
