  1. I have 3 bikes, a MTB, a racer and my Ezee. The Ezee gets used far more than the other bikes and, like other people I use it for local stuff >10 miles. Living in suburbia it is far more pleasurable than the car, I am always relaxed and I get a bit of exercise while I am at it. I am not a green freak but it does give me satisfaction knowing it is far better for the environment on the bike than in the car. Two Vaude panniers can get a huge amount of stuff in and if I am not using them they click off in a second. My Ezee Cadence stops assisting at 18.5mph on the speedo, I dont know how fast that really is. 14ah battery means I rarely see it go from green to yellow on the meter but its good to know I have substantial reserves if necessary.
  2. Go Gum, I wonder what reception a Cytronex Cannondale would have received from the Road Bike fraternity??
  3. How many of us have a dream to do what Gum is doing. Can't fault the Guy, I wish him the best of luck.
  4. 1. Make own bike with 14ah battery: Kit 436 + Battery 500 + Bike 500, (Ladies step through with suspension and disks, ish) = £1300 to £1600 purchase and sell Ezee Chopper without battery. 2. Buy Whisper 705 or Ezee Sprint and sell existing Ezee Chopper = £1300 purchase but then I can sell the Ezee Chopper including battery. Its not the end of it as there are other bikes I could be looking at but since these bikes will be used to go up and down a few hills rather than predominantly on the flat I would have thought that this was a good short list to narrow things down to. Maybe I need a trip to 'onbike' and have a go with the different bikes
  5. Thanks flecc. I was hoping otherwise. The Cadence has been excellent with 17mph and 40 miles ish so far (I am still conditioning). The problem I have is I find it pretty irritating waiting around for the missus to catch up on the Chopper doing 13mph and of course it would be nicer to improve on the 17mph of the Cadence if possible. Also the Chopper gearing is pretty low as well so there isnt much she can do about it. I have had a look around at the Alien kits with a view to buying her a 26" or 700c bike and putting a kit on it but then I have read about the drag when free wheeling with the direct drive Alien motors which I dont fancy. The quality of the Ezee bikes is top quality IMO its just a shame they dont go a bit quicker. I dont really fancy forking out £1300 ish for something like the Whisper 705 as I have already spent quite a few bob on the Chopper with 14ah battery. Does anyone know of a good quality kit that could be put on a standard bike that would give similiar performance to the Cadence?
  6. I agree with fishingpaul. 80% of the time all you need is an on/off button but for the remaining 20% the extra control is very useful, like tackling the tight corners that you find regularly on wheelchair ramps for instance.
  7. I have got 2 Ezee bikes; a Chopper and a Cadence. Because the Chopper has small wheels it only does 13mph under power. Can this be de restricted to get the speed up a bit. It would also be nice to do the same on my Cadence but it is not such an issue. Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Ezee Chopper Now Sold The bike has now sold
  9. I want one, they are cool. I wouldnt fancy the road rash those guys are going to get if they fall off at 30mph+ though
  10. Hi Nick Does that mean fully discharge and fully recharge 2 or 3 times or discharge once and try to reacharge 2 or 3 times without actually discharging. The latter doesnt sound right but I am just checking :o Flecc: No worries.
  11. I have read that Lithium batteries need to be kept charged rather than letting them run right down and then fully charge them. At the same time I have reads that new batteries need to be conditioned before they reach their full capacity. This is confusing me and considering the cost I am worried that I'll get it right. Can someone tell me definatively what the procedure is that I should follow with a new battery to get the best and longest life out of it please. Flecc: I'll gladly keep you informed but the real mileage wont start until next spring.
  12. Two 14ah batteries ordered from OnBike. Mike served me, he seemed very helpful and hopefully I'll receive my new batteries on Thursday (Onbike only work Wednesday to Sunday) so I'll let you knwo if I receive them OK. FYI they were £525 each plus £30 carriage. If I get the use out of them that I hope then they will be good value for money.
  13. Thanks Flecc and Conal. I'll try Onbike; is there no problem with the 14ah instead of the 10ah battery, physical size the same and the existing charger OK? If that fails I'll try Cyclepoint again, I just hate being ignored repeatedly.
  14. I need to source two Ezee 10ah 36v Lithium Ion batteries. I originally ordered them from Cycle Point but I am not happy with their communication. When I placed the order they warned me that it would take a while which is fair enough, but since then I cant get in touch depsite leaving answerphone and email requests for them to get in touch with me. Is there an alternative retailer or souce in the UK?
