  1. handlebars Hi Howard, Sorry you have had a problem, and this is the 1st time we have had a problem like this. I have had a look at the stock we have and all seems in order. I'm sure Mike at the electric transport shop will be able to sort it, but email me on doug.gosling@wisperbikes.com if Mike doesnt have a spare. I am not on the site too much so an email is the best bet. regards Doug
  2. Trek? Hi Guys I think this is the bike debut that was at Presteigne. A good bike which I believe is a standard Trek model in every detail with a modfication. If any one has any further info, can you mail me at doug.gosling@wisperbikes.com as I only get on here once every 2 months or so. regards Doug
  3. BB tool Hi there just to let you know we have at Wisper a tool set for sale in its own case that will do every possible thing on every size and type of bike electric or otherwise. these are £49 plus postage. If you contact me on doug.gosling@wisperbikes.com i will send you a pic and details. regards Doug:)
  4. Common cycle issues Hi Andrew, With regard to the rear rack I saw when I called on you yesterday, it was absolutely and definitely purposely bent. I couldnt even bend it straight with my full 19 stones! Someone has done this when you have parked it somewhere. The spoke coming loose, unfortunately not uncommon in many bikes nowadays due to the poor state of the roads. I understand that It did not break but unscrewed. I have mentioned this to many cycle shops and they say to me that the new materials and double skinned wheels which are dynamic, need more looking after and the fact that they have dozens of ordinary cycles in every week to have this sorted, to their minds proves this. Another point they make is that the pollution in towns with dirt, grease fumes, diesel etc etc, neccesitates the de-greasing of disk and wheels where the calipers touch, at least twice a week! Without this the efficiency is grealy reduced. The wheels and spokes on the 905se are of the highest quality and it is important to check the tightness of the spokes on all modern bikes after a week or so, exactly the same as on an electric bike which is heavier. I hope that this answers some of your questions, but you have my number, just in case. best regards Doug
  5. warranty Hi Mandy, sorry if the reply is late but I only log on every 2 weeks or so. We wanted to get our bikes made in the UK but couldn't find a manufacturer to make our frame at the time less than £420 each and a full bike for less than £2500! Its as simple as that! With regard to Warranties, its covered under the sale of goods act, the contract is with the seller and the buyer, and with regard to the German bikes, these were specifically produced for the German distributor and has different specs to where we sell in Australia, which has different specs to Canada, Holland, Spain and Norway. All are different. Buy a Wisper from a UK distributor and in the event of a problem you contact the seller not us direct. All Mercedes are made in Germany, but try to sell an "import" and it has a far less value. Not quite the same I know but I am sure you get the drift. If you send me your email address I can forward the UK range specs with pleasure. Give me a call if its easier on 01425 627641 regards Doug
  6. Battery innovations Toshiba : Press Releases 11 December, 2007 Have a look at this guys! None of the newer Lithium ion batteries discussed here have had any sort of REAL long term testing yet with electric vehicles, but have had some success in power tools. We have tested both of these on the Wisper range in China, but the cost is prohibitive at the moment and the only real benefit we found was that there could easily be 1000+ charge cycles and EVEN more on the Toshiba one! We will keep you informed of our findings. Please call on 01425 627641 as we dont log on too often if you want to discuss this or anything else in more detail, regards Doug:)
  7. Wisper Hi again, Just to let you know that what we said at the time regarding discounts was correct, but that was a year ago!!! All companies have clearance sales to introduce the new ranges and to make room for new uprated models and we may even do this for the UK SE when it arrives but that would be in late 2009! Always feel free to call direct if you want to discuss anything at all, we dont bite! I dont log on more than once a week so always feel free to call 01425 627641 to ask anything, regards Doug PS. Everything is operating from New Milton for the Uk now but the International sales operates from Kent. Doug:)
  8. Hi John, it appears that with all 100's of bikes We have sold at Wisper, there has been very little or no problems at all anywhere in the UK. The only real problems have been with the bikes bought from germany, and this has been recent. Surely this speaks volumes. Please call us direct if you need any answers the numbers are 01425 627641 or my personal mobile 0781 745 0101 regards Doug
  9. HI jOHN, JUST A TYPING ERROR. WE HAVE SOME OF THE OLD 905E'S LEFT AND WANT TO SELL THEM BEFORE THE NEW STOCK ARRIVES PEDELEC MEMBERS WILL ALWAYS GET A GOOD DEAL FROM US
  10. Hi Guys, Why not call me or contact me direct as I have asked. It really saves a lot of time and these comments are really not helpful. My number is 01425 627641 and 07817450101 Just a point . Mercedes are made in germany, buy one from there and it will be worth less. I didnt make that up! If you buty from Germany you have to deal with germany if you buty from Holland the same applies if you buy from the UK you deal with us. WISPER HAS NEVER SOLD A BIKE IN THE UK NOT DESIGNED FOR THE UK AND FRANK I AM HAPPY TO SELL ONE TO MYSELF TO GET THE BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE. GIVE ME A CALL WE ARE HERE TO HELP NOT SPECULATE!
  11. Wisper 905e Hi Ian, its not the new model but the original 905e with the newer 36v 10ah battery, It is the same bike that isa in the website. regarde Doug
  12. All Now Sold Many Thanks All now sold and many thanks for the response Best regards Doug/Phil 01425 627641
  13. Hi Frank, with regard to the Torque arm "problem" I have made investigations and it appears that the only 3 cases ever to have appeared are from the bikes bought from Germany where the throttle mechanism had to be installed by the purchaser. There has to my knowledg never been a problem with any Wisper bike made for the UK market as the nuts etc are tightened to specific torque. We will though in future look at this and amend if there is a safety issue. The German bikes were as you know made to a much lower specification on the insistance if the German distributor. We would never sell this quality in the UK and have taken steps to make certain that any of our distributors only sell the products designed for their country with their own specific requirements, only sell to the local market. Could you also get back in touch with me regrding the company you reccomend for deliveries as this would make a great difference. Best regards Doug:)
  14. Hi Frank, I notice that you have contacted Dick regarding the wiring on your German SE as you are experiencing problems in one of the modes. I understand that it was yourself that wired the throttle to the controller, and It looks as if you may have wired incorrectly, this could cause damage due to the importance of the voltage from the charger to the battery and motor. Please take a clear photo and send a diagram to us and we will check for you. The German Spec for electrics (and components) is as you know different to the full UK spec due to in part voltage and differring speed restrictions, and the de-limiter cut off on the german spec will drain the battery very quickly. Also for your lights to be legal they must be changed over to the right hand side. You did say in a previous email that you would get back to me with the details of the carriage issues when signing, but despite several mails to you I have not had a response. Could you let me know the details so we can take them on board. best regards Doug:)
  15. Electric bikes seen I have been riding electric bikes for 14 years now. the 1st 2 were powabykes bought from the boat show and then I had 2 Yamaha pas bikes. All the bikes I sold incidentally to Jamie at The Electric transprt shop as used for hire bikes! In the New forest area where i live, I see one or 2 every week travelling around, always a powabyke or powacycle though! In Kent there seems to be quite a few as my children often remark on seeing them regularly. The difficulty nowadays is that modern electric bikes look like standard bikes and the only give away is that the riders are a lot older!
