  1. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
  2. Hi,all, just a question if anyone can help. I have I have a total of five black wires exiting my controller, all of which are ground wires with continuity to each other. The question is could I join these together and create a common earth point for incoming earth wires on the throttle, cut off etc to minimise connections? Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
  3. Hi,all, I've just finished rewinding a burned out geared hub motor, the problem is when I put the stator back into the magnet bell the cogging effect seems weak. When I touch 2 phase wires together it cogs more but not nearly enough. I've re checked all my windings and all's good ,with equal resistance on all phases. I can only conclude the magnets are heat damaged hence the weaker cogging effect. Any help appreciated.
  4. Thanks guys.It does seem one too many winds on one stator tooth is not good!
  5. Hi all, a quick rewinding question; Will 1 turn more or one turn less on any single stator tooth be any significant problem? Asking because one tooth on a phase has an extra turn,my bad! Thanks in advance.
  6. Ok,cheers for that. Thanks to all for the advice, much appreciated!
  7. Hi,a quick question about this motor re Wind. The central hall sensor B is positioned between 2 stator teeth and sensors A and C are in the centre of the hammer head in machined slots,my question is if I want to start rewinding from, for example sensor A ,do I start winding from the actual tooth the sensor is set in or do I start from the tooth before it. Hope you can help, sorry if it's obvious and thanks in advance.
  8. AHH they're opposites, but with the same orientation. Cheers.
  9. Yep,I can see that all makes good sense. Thank you for your help and thanks to all!
  10. Thanks, fellas it looks like it may be right.
  11. Thanks for that, mate. I presume the white one goes central and the latching ones either side, sorry for the obvious, just checking. Cheers.
  12. Thanks,Nealh. I'll check them out. Thanks to all.
  13. Ok cheers, I'll do some more homework.
  14. Hi ,yeah half the windings are toast, but I know how to rewind it and want to do it as a challenge. Cheers.
  15. Hi everyone,I hope someone on here can help me. I have acquired an ancheer 250w 36v geared hub motor which the windings/sensor board are burnt out. The hall sensors on the p.c.b are strange,I'm unsure which type they are (see images) The centre hall sensor is white for some reason and I can't seem to find an equivalent, seemingly it is unipolar, however I can't test either of them as they're burned out.The controller doesn't give me any clue either. Can anyone advise me which sensors or sensor board combination should work. As replacements. Many thanks in advance for any help/advice
  16. Hi,yeah I have some cells known to be about 35mohms they measure ok. Cheers
  17. Hi,all could someone advise me. I have a brand new 18v power tool battery. I've removed the 10 cells and separated them/cleaned off the nickel. What I don't understand is they have never been charged or cycled, they are at 3.5v yet have a resistance around 80 mohms. This seems wrong unless it drops when fully charged/discharged.They are Chinese, but of good quality. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  18. Thanks for an excellent reply. Much appreciated.
  19. Hi,everyone, I hope someone can answer my question. If a 10s5p battery pack is given a continuous 15 amp load, what would the load be on each cell? I.e. would current be divided equally in each cell (3a) or will each cell need to provide 15 amps? Thanks in advance for any info.

  21. Hi,thanks for your reply it makes good sense. If I made 2 packs of identical cells both with a bms,and charged them separately. Then discharged them both in parallel, could that work? If not I'll source more same cells. Cheers.
  22. Hi,I just need a little advice, please. I've acquired 50 brand new Samsung high drain cells and I want to make a 10s5p pack. I have a spot welder and will be fitting a BMS. 10 of the cells are 1500mah and 30 are 2000mah they all have resistance around 25mo. My question is,can I mix these cells ok in parallel strings of 5 cequal capacities? Thanks,in advance
  23. Hi all just a question about my rear geared hub motor. I've noticed when doing some maintenance that I can move the wheel/hub a small amount before the internal gears are felt to engage. I'm using it with a locked freewheel clutch so it's pretty much a direct drive. Is it normal to have any free play at all in the gears/ring gear assembly?
  24. Hi, sorry about the confusion. I don't see any way that cover is threaded and I can't move it either way It seems as though the motor was put into the casing then the ring gear was sweated on making it almost impossible to remove. Is that possible, or am I way off here?
  25. It just looks so seamless maybe it's machined after assembly.
