  1. Just about to buy an e-bike for leisure use around the Middleton-in-Teesdale area where we live and was going to buy a Cube Tour 400. However, I came across a Kalkhoff Image 500 which whilst being some £300 dearer was better equipped with a bigger battery, suspension seat, hub gears and the same Bosch motor. I was just about to buy the Kalkhoff when I checked the Trustpilot reviews and they were awful. I would really appreciate any help I can get with this as you will gather my experience is virtually zero. Many thanks.
  2. Ordered a Cube Kathmandu in September 2020. Originally promised for December 2020. Just been informed late May 2021 at best. Bugger.
  3. Shame about that, but suffering from "Duck's Disease" I need a 46. Should sell very easily at present due to the supply drought. I sold my G-tech for very strong money in less than 24 hours a couple of months ago so good luck with it. P.S. Re divorce, that may be the more cost-effective option in the long run.
  4. Yes since I posted my previous message I have had a look around and as you suggest the situation is truly dire at the moment.
  5. AS the Cube has abilities over and above what I require I am getting very tempted to cancel it and get something that a) is available and b) not European manufactured. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
  6. Just been informed that the delivery date fir my Cube Kathmandu which was originally promised for December 2020 has now gone back to late April 2021. Anyone else experiencing this type of difficulty ?
  7. Thank you very much for that, appreciated.
  8. Very new to this game, please educate me re "butt ended inner tubes"
  9. As I would suspect like many others I am paranoid about punctures, I believe that my new bike which I am eagerly awaiting delivery is fitted with Schwalbe Big Ben Performance tyres. I intended to also have "Slime" put into the tubes but The question that I am asking is, would this be worthwhile or would it be totally pointless.
  10. All being well I should be taking delivery of a Cube Kathmandu 625 Easy Entry in a couple of weeks. Whilst this is a very good thing it does however present me with a little difficulty with regards to storage. We live in a small but perfect for us retirement bungalow with no garage and although there is a shed it is chocker block with the sort of things that sheds normally are and I'm loath to try to store such a high-value item in this sort of environment. This leaves me looking for a stand-alone storage solution hence this post. Due to limited space, I need something just big enough to store the bike, of reasonable price and does not promote dampness and condensation. It is my hope that someone on here has successfully addressed the same problem and would be kind enough to share their resolution with me.
  11. Typical of his type and sadly very common these days, as long as things going his way, all good. if not must be someone's fault. All about their rights with no concept of their responsibilities.
  12. I actually sat down and waded through the comparative specs. What was I thinking, no contest, Kathmandu all the way. I think I must have had a fit of "long wait apprehension" coupled with "lockdown irrationality", roll on February.
  13. I have a Cube Kathmandu on order with expected delivery Feb 2021 but just starting to wonder if I should save £1k and buy a Haibike SDuro Trekking 1.0 Mens Electric Hybrid Bike - 2020. My usage is purely leisure on roads and very light tracks so would I be paying more for would I would or could not exploit ?
  14. I have a Cube on order and have been given a delivery date of February 2021, all good so far. However, I now note that there is very likely to be a Government grant scheme being operated in a similar fashion to the electric car subsidy in the spring of next year which could well mean something in the order of £500 in the price I would pay. I was going to change my car in the early part of next year but have scrapped that idea as that situation is so confused and uncertain going forward and I fear the Cube may go the same way. I sold my G-tech a month ago in preparation for the Cube's arrival, big mistake.
  15. Can anyone recommend a maintenance stand that will accommodate a Cube Kathmandu Easy Entry Pro 625, Thanks.
  16. Thanks for that, supports my own thinking. Just being over cautious as it is obviously a significant investment and have spent so much time researching in order to get it right.
  17. After using a Gtech to sample the joys of ebiking I have just ordered a Cube Kathmandu 625 Easy Access. Now being of a certain age I thought that was the way to go. My slight worry is that the roads around here are in a diabolical state and I am a little concerned that the Easy configuration may not have the structural rigidity of either the Trapez or the Crossbar configurations. Any views would be much appreciated. Geoff.
  18. Following many, many years of motorcycling I decided to hang up the helmet last year for a myriad of reasons. This left a huge void in my life so I thought I would try an ebike for size, absolutely love. Dipped toe in the water with a Gtech and have just ordered a Cube Kathmandu 625. As I am blessed to live at the foot of the North Pennines it should be ideal.
