help kt lcd4 display info 3
Thank you, is there any chance that info 3 would show if the wiring has become damaged during folding and unfolding?

help kt lcd4 display info 3
The display shows an info 3 error, Halls sensor error. When I work the throttle the wheel jumps forward and stops. Turning the pedals the motor seems to drive using pedal assist but I can't currently test this on the road as I am recovering from an operation. I have swapped the throttle with one I know works and the error persists. I have visually checked the wiring. The only fault I can see is that where the wires enter the controller through a rubber gasket at the end. The wires had pulled out a little so that about 5mm of the individual inner wires were showing. I pushed the wire back in and when the error persisted I gently moved the wire a little but still got info 3. Any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated. As I am not technically very skilled so advice on which parts should be replaced would also b very helpful. Thanks.

I have installed the following kit on my Brompton last year: Kit C SS:74 Silver motor with 16inch 349wheel Silver rim +KT T06SWF controlle+KT LCD4 display+thumb throttle+KT PAS+1-2 cable+9pins cable(100cm) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002919596473.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.5.49c71802BGxwub After a year of use with many folding and unfolding the display shows an info 3 error, Halls sensor error. Indirect Drive with a Bafang Mid Drive
I have a very low step through Bernds Tandem with belt drive. I can mount a Bafang mid drive motor into a kiddie crank I attached to the frame above the front chain set. I can fit a 30 tooth 104BCD chainring to the Bafang and the chain set. The motor will drive downwards to the chainset and the cranks will not be attached to the Bafang. Has anyone tried this or anything similar? Do you think it will work? My main thought is that the "freewheel" in the Bafang motor will not be needed or work at all and the cut out when we stop pedalling will need adjusting via the computer program to stop immediately. But will this stop the motor when we stop pedalling straight away and is it safe? I do of course realise that I could use hub motors, change the whole drive system etc etc. But I have a Bafang motor and most of the bits so want to give it a try. AND the Bafang cannot be fitted to the existing bottom brackets for at least three valid reasons. Any help or suggestions much appreciated.

Best Front Hub 20inch wheel kit for a tandem
Thanks all that has all been a great help. Just had a look at the simulator. Unless someone says different it confirms what everyone has said above, ie that with my 6 Ligo battery units the output of a 250w motor is very similar to a 500w motor. Looks as if the power is restricted by the LIGO BMS. Looks as if there is nothing I can do to get more power if I want to take my bikes by air.

Best Front Hub 20inch wheel kit for a tandem
Thanks, My main battery is made up from six Grin Ligo units but I also have another which is six 36v 84wh skateboard batteries wired together in parallel. That way we can take our bikes by air.

Best Front Hub 20inch wheel kit for a tandem
Thanks, There is always a way but it would need really major work as it is both belt drive, low step through and folding. Even then I don't think a Bafang mid drive would fit in the bottom bracket shells......

Best Front Hub 20inch wheel kit for a tandem
Thanks, I currently have a 250w Bafang hub motor in the tandem and get a very similar experience to you. I live in a hilly area and want a bit more help on the hills. I prefer to be legal but with a touring tandem......

Best Front Hub 20inch wheel kit for a tandem
Thanks for your reply. I would like the maximum power that I can get with 600wh 36v battery. This is mainly for hill climbing as the tandem is very heavy. I have fitted several kits on other family bikes but do not have much technical knowledge so any further help appreciated.

Best Front Hub 20inch wheel kit for a tandem
I would appreciate some advice on the best kit for my tandem. It has to be front hub as a mid drive can't be fitted and I want to keep the Rohloff gears. We have several ebikes in the family and all use 36v batteries so I am looking at 36v 500w set ups being the most powerful geared motors I can get for 36v. I looked at a Bafang kit on Aliexpress but as far as I can see from the Bafang web site their motors are only designed for 26inch wheels, i.e. they don't rev fast enough for 20inch wheels. CSC offer a kit with a 20inch wheel running at 360rpm which looks ok but is it strong enough for a heavy tandem. Any help appreciated.

New Controller Stopped Working
wheeliepete Thanks so much for your suggestion, which I followed, and it is working fine now. For anyone else with a similar problem it did work when I first assembled it, see my first post, but it stopped working very soon afterwards. When I fixed the motor connections today I slightly ovalled the female side to tighten them so that hopefully they will not come loose again.

New Controller Stopped Working
Help appreciated. On my Bafang BS01B I fitted a new controller. The old one had blown. I tested it on the bench and it worked. I disconnected the battery and plugged it in again but got a flash. After that the display a C961 still works but the motor does not drive. Walk assist does not work either but the display shows walk assist when the - button is pressed. I connected the motor to my computer and was able to read and write the controller settings. Thanks

Thankyou, not good news but at least I know.

Help please Bafang BBS01 shorted out I think
Trying to sort out bent pins in the green display socket with a screw driver I got a spark. I forgot to disconnect the battery which I know is stupid. The motor is dead. I have plugged in a proven fully working wiring loom with another working display, and nothing. I have also plugged a computer programming cable into the green socket. This connects to the computer via the Bafang program but will not connect to the motor itself. ie none of the parameters show on any of the three pages can be changed. Any help in fixing this is much appreciated, I have a multimeter. Thanks

Through Axle Kit - Maxon - others?
I love bafang and just might do that. The bike has an evo386 bottom bracket which has some reinforcing underneath it so the clearances are very tight for bafang. So I would need an eccentric bottom bracket from Fast or similar and then get some longer bolts. Sadly the Lekkie adaptor would not give anything like enough clearance. Then I would need an axle extender kit, the shortest I can find is 100mm which is 14mm longer than I need. If it all works it could be good, but if not a hub motor, if one were available for through axle, would be a lot easier.

Through Axle Kit - Maxon - others?
Maxon replied to me as follows: a) Our motor delivers 500W and is as far as we know not legal in the UK and the EU. b) SRAM 12x1 speed gear "can" be a problem. We have cases in which the cassette streaks on the motor housing. Our system is made for maximum 11 gear cassettes. c) Due to point a) we only sell our system to dealers in Switzerland. Shame because as far as I can see no one sells a 250w through axle motor. It's a personal thing but I prefer to pay for quality parts for my bike. I would have been prepared to pay this price if it is a high quality product and exactly what I wanted. In the UK many electric bikes kits and parts are very low quality which is not the case in Europe. Maybe that is why we are so far behind them in take up of electric bikes.

Through Axle Kit - Maxon - others?
I came across this online: https://www.maxonbikedrive.com/en/home They offer a UK legal 250w motor rear wheel motor kit with a through axle adaptor. Questions 1. Has anyone got any experience of this kit? 2. Does anyone know of any other 250w hub motor kits which will fit through axle bikes? 3. The Maxon kit is a rear wheel kit, does anyone know of a 250w motor front wheel kit which will fit 100mm x 12mm spacing? 4. And the impossible. Is there a through axle motor rear wheel kit out there which will accept a 12 speed SRAM axs cassette?

Vekkit
Good to here about the range for you. I calculate MY range on meters of climb from my Garmin but I live in a hilly area. Is there a zero assist mode on the handlebar control? If not where is the on/off switch? I prefer to use zero or off when I don't need assist. I agree about gears, I always go higher on electric bikes. Look forward to getting further updates, Thanks

Thanks for this very good review. It will be very interesting to see how the wireless sensor stands up to the daily commute in winter. Hope you will keep us informed. Is the battery modular? They claim it can be carried by air and has a capacity of 93.6Wh. If so this is a very useful piece of kit. As far as I know the only other modular battery is from Grin in Canada https://ebikes.ca/36v-ligo-battery.html.
