  1. Good points Stanebike. Thanks for replying.
  2. I'd like your opinions on wrist mirrors. I already have a fixed mirror but for added safety I was thinking about them. Anybody here use them? Are they any good?
  3. Hm, a tip if anyone else is going to do this. Ask your LBS first. I didn't! I bought an adjustable stem and took it to my LBS and they told me it can't be fitted because the brake cables are too short. It's going to cost over £100 (UK) to get new cables and have them fitted! I've got other things to do before I spend that money on the bike. So, like I say, check it out with your LBS first.
  4. Thanks both, that seems just the job.
  5. Thanks both, that seems just the job.
  6. I absolutely love my Vado Sl 4.0 except for the handlebars. Or more to the point, the height of them. They are playing havoc with my already bad neck and shoulders. My saddle is already as low as it can go. Has anyone raised theirs and if so how did it go? Failing that has anyone replaced the handlebars with a different style? TIA.
  7. Thank you both, with your help I finally got there! Can't wait to get out on it. Thanks again.
  8. Thanks for trying but that wont work. They barely fit into the hole, it is a perfect fit though. There is nowhere to bend them and not enough length. No I think if I can remove the threaded inserts in holes underneath I'll be able to push the rods further in and then tighten the inserts onto the rods, hopefully
  9. Aha, thanks to both your posts, I think (?) I've got it. I turned the bike upside down And there is another tiny hole there with a thread inside it. If I can find a way of unscrewing that I think the rods will push past that hole and then I would be able to tighten them both up....hopefully.
  10. Oops sorry Raboa, our posts crossed. No there is nowhere on the sides of the forks that I can see. The holes I mentioned are on the back of the fork facing the pedals. You really can't see them on any photo's I've seen.
  11. Thanks for the reply. No there is no grommet, just the tiny holes I mentioned. If all else fails I may try to bend the stays a little to get more tension, but not yet. I'll probably take the mudflap off for now until I work something out. Thanks again.
  12. Today I took delivery of my Specialized Vado SL 4.0 EQ at long last. So I've put it all together, well the bits you have to put together ie the saddle to the saddle post, handlebars, front wheel etc. Now I feel a bit silly here but the front mudflap/guard has me beat. I've got it attached to the frame ok but where do the two rods go? I can see a hole at the bottom of the forks and I've pushed the rods into them but they don't seem too secure. Indeed I gently bounced the front wheel once or twice and they popped out. Am I putting them in the correct place or is there something else I should be doing? Am I missing something obvious?
  13. Your right, I did ask , and thanks for your honest input. It gives me something to think about. vfr400, thanks, I do though, know how internet searches work. That said, I do take your point. Although I had taken my choices down to the three I mentioned, a longer, deeper look into things would have been more beneficial. I suppose part of that deeper search was coming here to ask advice? Not sure I know what you mean about clever people though. Also the main thing that did concern me about the Vanmoof was the poor (abysmal) reports concerning their customer service. I did look at Wisper bikes but I cant remember why they didn't make my top three. Thanks, I'll look again. mike killay, no problem. I suppose I'd get sick of trolls if I had to put up with them. Your point about the shape of the batteries is a good one and brought to mind the shape of the Wau. Good tip on Bosch too. So for me the three makes I mentioned, which were in the order I fancied them, have now been blown out of the water. Lots to think about there, so thanks all.
  14. But that is the point, I know nothing of the history of this site and I don't like the insinuation that was made. All I wanted was some advice but it seems like you have to jump through hoops on this site. I've since been on another site and although I still haven't made up my mind on which bike to buy, I was given some good pointers. You say your 'interested' in why those bikes and their suitability? I ask myself...why? But just to satisfy your curiosity I will explain. I already have a cheaper Chinese bike. I bought it so it would fold and fit into the back of the car. It does the job ok but I decided I would like something more, shall we say, robust. Something one could feel is better made and as I had the folding one I would go for a 'normal' bike. Maybe that's just me but there it is. You also want to know how I came across those bikes. A simple search for good ebikes was suffice. There were lots of them and I whittled the choices down to those three (I won't mention their names again). I couldn't/cant make up my mind so I had the brilliant idea of coming onto a site and asking the advice of like minded individuals. Not such a brilliant idea as it turned out!
  15. What a strange reply. First off this was my second post so get your facts right. What (in your mind) am I advertising? Do you think I'm advertising three different manufacturers? 'We' are the wrong audience!! Who are we, a little club all of your own eh. I ask a question and you find you are unable to answer so you turn to sarcasm. I'll leave it to others to give advice (and thanks for that) and you to your own importance.
  16. Hello all, I've been looking at at ebikes on the net and I've kinda (!) got it down to three but which one would you choose? It would be only for leisure. If it went off road it would only (at worst) be on rough grassland. Anyway the three are, Vanwoof x3, Wau and Cowboy. I know there are pro's and cons but....which one would you personally choose? TIA.
  17. Can't say about the d4s, I have the d2s and it's good. Best bet is to go onto the Fiido website, good advice on there.
