  1. Thanks for confirming what l thought. Suppose it’s a trade off, less power for longevity of the motor ?
  2. The one below is what l have in mind, thanks
  3. I am hanging my nose over the 500w Bafang mid drive and looking towards the experts on here for advice. Will l be disappointed with the 36v 17.5 Ah triangular I pack ,will the lower voltage preserve the controller , due to the shape of my frame l can’t find any others suitable that would look the part without going for a custom made pack. Many thanks Wafty .
  4. No my friend, l gave up on the idea after putting the equivalent amount of weight in a very comfortable backpack l own. Was fine to begin with but after riding for half an hour or more it became apparent there would be problems so gave up on the idea.
  5. Hi everyone, I’m struggling to find a suitable battery pack to fit within my 17” Rockhopper frame and am wondering what your thoughts/ experiences are regarding a good comfortable backpack to carry the battery. Don’t like the look of the rack mounted ones, so wondered if the weight on the shoulder straps could be a problem after an hour or so or does the weight of the pack interfere with stability ? All views appreciated, thanks Wafty.
  6. Thanks, l though they used same casing. Learning all the time !
  7. Interesting that, bit if wet &dry and a waft over with a rattle can maybe. Thanks
  8. Hello again, I’m contemplating buying a Bafang 750w mid drive and believe the physical size is the same as the 250w motor which got me thinking what identification marks do they display to show which is which ? Can you see where I’m heading with this ? Thanks Wafty.
  9. Thanks Gringo, l have come to the same conclusion myself .
  10. Thanks everyone for your words of wisdom, doesn’t seem quite as attractive as first though, however will continue to look and learn ! Wafty.
  11. Yes mate, looking to buy complete kit. Motor, controller etc.
  12. Been on Ali Express and compared like for like on what’s for sale here, on EBay and Uk suppliers. Since leaving the EU do we now have the additional cost of VAT and Import duty ? I have never purchased anything from them before and would welcome some feedback from those in the know, thanks Wafty.
  13. Thanks for the advice, l may go along with your advice if l can’t find a wheel to match .
  14. No mate, l am hoping to find one already built but as yet haven’t found the right one.
  15. Hi everyone ,This is pretty new to me although I have been lurking in the background on your forum. I own a mint condition Specialized Rockhopper with all decent components so am loathed to spend big money on a purpose built ebike with less spec’d parts. I am leaning towards a rear hub conversation with 500w of power. A rear 26” hub with black spokes and rim is needed to complement the matt black front wheel and matching frame and also looking for a triangular battery.Hope to learn from the ones that have experience on here, thanks Wafty Cranker !
