  1. Anybody got a spare 36v 200w (or thereabouts) controller for sensored wheel? And maybe a throttle? This is for a 200w Conhis Motor. Motor good, controller + throttle + wiring not good. Conhis no reply me write longtime again. Me tok like this all time now me become super power 200w rider . . .
  2. Thanks Many thanks Frank, I'll get a voltmeter and try that. Seon
  3. I have a 200w 36v set-up that I use on the 20" front wheel of my Bacchetta Bellandare recumbent. It's very good. The controller and thumb throttle aren't so good. There are too many features and the wiring isn't very solid. At 36v 200w it won't go beyond 15mph anyhow. I use it to get up to speed then its easy to keep the bike going. It's heavier than other motors but not that heavy. I prefer a bit of weight on the front wheel because it was too light and skippy before. It vibrates if I give it too much throttle in low gear. I don't know if that's because of the bike or if it would do that on another bike anyhow. But it's easy enough to get into the right gear and give it the right amount of throttle. With moderate pedalling I can easily get thirty miles out of my Ping 15ah 36v battery, with some left over. I tried it on throttle only and got 18 miles over quite hilly ground. But as a gaun-about bike this set-up is great. Winds don't bother me and hills aren't difficult now. The wiring and thumb throttle cause problems though. There are too many features on the controller. I would prefer a more simple set-up like what I've got on my 26" wheel bike. Three wires go into the motor. The controller has an on-off switch too. The Conhis has a switch on the thumb throttle but no main switch to cut power to the controller. Easy enough to make one up yourself but I'd rather have it all big and simple. Still, the electric recumbent is the best thing I've tried. No more cars for me, although I wouldn't say no to Morris 8 Tourer.
  4. Sorry I don't have old stuff to send you but I do have a controller and thumb throttle problem. Would you be able to help? It's a Conhis 200w 36 v set-up. The thumb throttle was always dodgy. It would stick. I didn't bother too much about that because I thought it was just the spring inside. I could always shift it back with my thumb. But sometimes the motor would cut out. I thought it was due to loose contacts. It seemed to be an easy fix to wiggle the connectors about. I never identified any one connector as the source. Yesterday the whole thing packed in and started again so much that I took it all apart. Following the dodgy connectors idea I stripped the wires and joined them without connectors, one by one. Still no joy. I then realised that it must be the thumb throttle. Took it apart and broke it. not worried. I've got a spare. But the spare isn't the same type. The Conhis motor and controller have a lot of extra features and that means extra wires. I don't know what they are for. The wiring diagram doesn't make it very clear. A proper circuit diagram would be handy. To cut a long story short, would you be able to advise me on how I can join the new thumb throttle to the motor and controller? I'm not bothered about the fancy features. I would prefer to use only the minimum wiring necessary to make the thing work, with possibly one brake cut-out. I wouldn't want this to be a nuisance so please don't feel that you have to respond. Best regards, Seon
