  2. This is still for sale... up for £375 now
  3. Thanks! Good point! Bike size is medium. Back wheel is black as yose didn't sell white ones and the bike was originally fitted with white rims. Front brake is disk, rear is rim. 16 speed... grip shift on right along with thumb throttle, trigger shift on back.
  4. Still have this... open to offer.
  5. Just looking back through my strava... the average speed on the carrera was pretty much identical to my average speed on an 8kg carbon road bike.
  6. The average speed I managed on the carrera was 13.4... I'll find ouf the max no load speed next time I'm out on it
  7. AND I didn't use the thumb throttle at all... seems to use way more battery than pedal assist so I just stuck with that.
  8. One thing I forgot to mention... once I found a clear route, I got my average speed up to around 19mph.
  9. Hey! Ok, here is the full story... my initial estimate of 22 miles was not accurate. It was in fact 19.8 miles - from Watford to Baron's Court (West London). The Yose powered bike was awesome. On a nice clear run I could do it in a shade over an hour (an 1.10 / 1.15 ish). In a car it was taking me a minimum of 1 hour 30, public transport was around the same. Loved the commute on the bike too as there's a lovely stretch of quiet path down the side of the A5. Very peaceful to ride. The assistance was amazing - I'd basically be travelling the same kind of top speeds I would make on my road bike, but with half the effort and way quicker acceleration. The battery would show still half charge at the end of a run, though I didn't chance it and charged up at work. However, I suffered hearing damage and tinnitus towards the end of October '22 (I've worked as a drummer for a lot of years, also a music producer and music performance teacher) - insomnia, stress, anxiety set in (something I've never really suffered with before) so didn't end up commuting very much as I wasn't able to work - I made the run maybe five or six times. Then in a re-think of my work/life balance I took a job way closer to home (half a mile away lol) that is way easier, and term time only. Having a 350w motor to do a half mile commute is a bit of overkill, hence I'm moving it on! To summarise, a 20 mile commute is pretty comfortable with the set up I had (350w rear motor, 36v 13ah battery) - the difference between that and the Carrera was like night and day. Once over 15mph on the Carrera it felt like you were working against the bike to get it to go faster. The assistance from the Yose set up felt great and I think the battery would have made it there and back on one charge, though was easy enough to just top up at work. I wouldn't fancy it in the dead of winter, but it was certainly more enjoyable than sitting in a car in stop start traffic.
  10. No. I imagine they encountered the same problem I did.
  11. I tried to post this... when I did I received a message stating that the post had encountered an error. I hit "try again". After five times, I gave up. I'm not so inconsiderate that I would create duplicate posts in quick succession on purpose.

  13. I have a new job now so this is up for sale. Will stick an ad up soon...
  14. Well it was fun to put together! It's too fast for him though. Even on the low setting it's really quick... I guess because he's so light. The battery makes it hard to balance too when he stops. Going to try and think of another use for the kit!
  15. I bought it in the end... condition is excellent and the battery life is decent. Going to pull it to bits on Monday and try using the parts to convert my Son's bike. I'm not convinced the pas will fit so may end up fitting an aftermarket one, other than that it looks like it'll work a treat. I think it should be quite nippy too, my son only weighs 25kg and kids bike about 8.5 so the motor will have an easy life.
  16. Hey! So i've been offered a Halfords Assist 20" Ebike for £200. My plan is to strip the parts off it and fit to my Son's 20" releigh performance mountain bike. I'm assuming it will be pretty straight forward as its a front motor pedal assist. Does anyone have a picture of the crank on an assist so I can see if it looks like I will be able to swap over the sensor? or if I'll need to move over the whole crank. And can anybody think of any potential pitfalls that I'm missing? Thanks
  17. That's better... much clearer route. Cycling into the wind but didn't make too much difference.
  18. First proper run on this today... Google maps took me via a marshy park which slowed me down loads Decent ride though. Used about half of the charge on the battery.
  19. Hey everyone, Finally finished my conversion, just have one small issue to resolve. I'd like to fit a sensor to my hydraulic brake... I have two questions - Are Bafang sensors compatible with a Yose system? The Yose ones are looking to take a good long while to ship from China and there are Bafang ones available in the UK. I don't mind cutting and soldering, but would prefer plug in and play. - The shape of my Tektro brake levers looks like it is going to make fitting the sensors tricky... anyone got any clever workarounds? Pic below Many thanks!
