  1. So the moral of this particular story is - don't try Just blew my controller trying. Not sure why, used the pin out diagrams but I guess Chinese wiring is what it is and can't be trusted half the time. So to save 30 quid I've cost myself at least 130 for a new bbs02 controller plus all the hassle alongside May another learn from my missteps!!
  2. I'm not sure exactly, I guess I'd seen connectors where only some of the pins are used enough times to hope that an identical lcd would have the same number of wires regardless of the end connector. I guess I'll wire it up on a best efforts basis and see
  3. Sorry, of course I remember you saneagle. I hope all is well with you too! My attempt at a stealthy pedelec re entry has failed! You need new handles, Hercule and Sherlock?
  4. Well I didn't expect this. The bigger Higo has 8 wires and the smaller Julet just the five....
  5. Well spotted Neal , I confess, tis Kirstin S but ive lost access to that old account having been off the scene for a good few years. I built my 'perfect " two bikes and have been using them ever since! I do hope you are well
  6. Thank you - dual mode is what I needed to search for but was searching under sensorless
  7. 18a ideally but 15a or 20a would also be OK. Thanks for help
  8. Hiya, long time I used to know where to get a cheap sensorless 36v brushless controller Any ideas? I'm looking to buy a complete setup other than battery and wheel to help a friend (controller, lcd, pas sensor) Thanks Kirstin
  9. Thank you, I've still not dared do it just in case but I think this weekend is a go.
  10. Just remembered, I also swap my dropper post (summer use when offroading) for a suspension post when using only as my primary transport on roads (winter) I also regularly cycle with my battery left at home when I'm out with the family (wife n kids) Advantage of a mid drive is this is easily done. Hubs tend to drag more IMHO (though I'm sure it varies model to model)
  11. Hiya, I've not been able to find any more info Given the sealed lcd and potted controller. What happens if I guess the rx and tx and get it wrong. Clearly a 50/50 gamble? Would it break anything (I won't risk) or just not work (I will risk) Thanks for insight
  12. I've run one bike for over five years. I swap my nobby nics for DTH tyres in deep winter when I'm done offroading. It's not the weather but the combo of dark at 4pm and extreme mud plugging around me in winter. I also stick my mudguards back on winter (mudhuggers) I've an titanium mtb frame, bbs motor, Lyrik forks, alfine 11 gearing. It's pretty bullet proof and very much a do it all machine. The only other bike I use is a non electric brompton on rare travel for work/commuting days.
  13. I'm a bit fan of superstar evo nano pedals Come with 2 sizes of removable spikes which you can leave off On 50% off till end of July. British made in Sheffield, quality engineering. Mine are 5 years old and run as good as new
  14. I use a Suntour ncx pot on my bike. It's great
  15. Thanks but the lcd is fully sealed and no way of getting inside. Equally the controller is fully potted. Food for thought, I hate wastage but I might have to give up on this
  16. Hi all New here so I hope this isn't a daft question. I can't find anything I bought a new sw102 lcd for my bbs conversion. Stupidly I ordered the wrong connector. It has come with a large Higo marked connector. I need the standard Julet one Does anyone know if adaptors are available or how to wire to a Julet connector. I've got the old defuct lcd to cannibalise Thankyou fir any help Alex
