  1. Hi folks Desperately trying to find one of these rails. It has 6 pins. I'll be jiggered if I can find one. It's used with a swift RX 73 battery Any sleuths able to help ?! I have a call in a company who sell the bikes as well Thanks Kirstin
  2. Hi Been gifted a dead super 73 rx pack. The bms , highly propriety, is dead but cells are pretty new samsung 21700 50e (x 52 cells) Never seen 6 pins on battery before nor such a long slim BMS I'm going to tear down the 13s 4p config and rebuild with as 10s 5p pack for my 36v bbs02 plus a common dumb BMS of some description. Going down to 50 cells will give me enough room for one. Just putting the pics for interest really. I've not seen a pack quite like this before. Solid quality build though imho. And I quite like the case shape
  3. How nice to see a many years later update! As for your next bike. If you want move away from the an mtb then a hybrid frame will generally have more relaxed geometry than a gravel designed for drop bars. I always like the look of the Genesis Smithfield with twin toptube as good candidate (but I do love a IGH) You could have a down tube battery and have some weight on the rack, some in a backpack for better over all balence Also a surtout ncx suspension seatpost is a game changer, come is 27.2 for hybrids as well
  4. I would agree with others, don't put a mid drive on a carbon frame. Plus the battery weight point. Tbh, whilst you can convert carbon bikes i generally don't see the point. Once it's electrified the super light carbon roadie USP is negated
  5. Quick range update. 14 miles on the easy flat and no wind. A comfy 10 with mild hill and a bit of wind. Generally i sit in pas4 of 5. 5 is bit faster than top gear with a full battery. After a few miles it feels better in pas5 as the voltage on the pack come down a bit. Very happy with performance, torquier than expected. Generally very happy with woosh kit. My only grumble is the controller , it's *just* to big to get in the triangle easily . There is nothing wrong with it, nicely waterproofed etc. Just 10 to 15% smaller and I'd be laughing. Might buy a spare controller just to hack the pcb out and rehouse.......
  6. No idea how of range yet. I'll test it tomorrow, too late, dark and cold now !
  7. So the the kit is on and battery built. Didn't go remotely how i had planned in my head. Mostly due to wiring lengths and controller being bigger than i thought . So basically I've chucked it on for now with bits and bobs i had in the shed. The controller will move into the triangle when I've made a custom holder. The battery bag will be chnaged for something sleeker but same in the same location. Weight wise is a surprise. Still very managable. Cost wise kit was 320 without a battery Cells and bms was 72 delivered Heat shrink, xt60 , nickel strips and welder i already had in stock. Same with the two little bags. So call it 400 all in though I expect to get a decent sum back from the sale of the dynamo hub wheel and lights setup i removed. (100 ?)
  8. Oh, I've never had an issue with daly. Quite the opposite . I've used 3 (4 inc this build) , no issues and been running for years. The oldest pack is a good 6 years old which i gave to a friend amd he uses regularly still. However a quick check online shows a pretty ropey reputation so i guess I've been lucky and will pay close attention to this new pack in early days. Thanks for the tip And wife and four kids are all well. Though my eldest is now taller than me!
  9. That's kind but I'll bow out now I've decided I'm not going to risk the unknown controller especially as 12a. Going to go with woosh kit so nothing to be learned for the forum there I'm afraid. It's ook like the dahon peter shows
  10. Thanks, that's very helpful too Especially the rebadging, I didn't know that
  11. I think the phrase you were looking for was oh yes, sorry I misread or misunderstood. Rather than ignoring the cell point which I hadn't made and then trying to needlessly hack around the dynamo point Its just oddly aggressive and simply odd behaviour to me and 'm reminded why I stopped coming here. I shall happily crawl back to seaside from whence I came and just carry on riding ! Cheers Kirstin
  12. Thanks, I didn't know about the updated regs
  13. Thanks , that's helpful. Luckily my commute is 8 miles each way but with an overnight hotel stay. Easy to charge
  14. Hi saneagle Thanks but you misread/misunderstand my post. I will be using 5.3ah 21700 cells with 30a rating. Sag no issue on 12a controller I've no plans at all do anything like you say with a dynamo. I said I have a factory fitted dynamo hub so when I lose the wheel that contains it the weight penalty will be a tad less when adding in a motor hub. My thinking doesn't need sorting out, though i think your reading might !
  15. It'd fit but I'd have to drill an exit route and that doesn't appeal at all !
  16. Thanks I did see that but he used a different motor from either that I'm proposing and different controller. I appreciate he has reduced the weight in many other areas. I don't propose that as budget doesn't allow for that level of fettling I guess I'm asking for views on the motors and the tubular contoller then
  17. I'm in two minds and going for the forums opinions. Please bear with the precie! Electrifying a m3l brompton with dynamo setup (factory installed) So it's a front motor and losing the dynamo sadly. At least the loss of of the dynamo hub will slightly offset the weight of the motor Weight is key for me as I do have e carry my bike up and down stairs, around Hotels etc. Ive a totally of 8 miles each way on different days as part of a bi weekly commute from south coast to peterborough. I will build my own small battery with a daly bms. Probably using 5.2ah 27100 cells. 10s1p Trying to choose between a q70 kit from woosh(minus battery) Or going my own way using a funky little tubular controller which would fit very nicely behind on behind the fork (fold still works ive checked). In this case I'd use a tbk-74ad motor. Price wise i think it comes about abiut the same price when all is said and done. This is the controller https://www.topbikekit.com/10s13s-36v48v15a-yg-kt-6mosfets-sine-wave-controller-kt-tubular-controller-p-1039.html?zenid=nvvn4pd1kg18cs4r8mgkcb3u81 Thoughts ?
  18. I totally agree, slightly flippant post on my behalf. I've a welder , can and have sourced cellss, hl cases and just built my own. The value for me is not in the weldless solution nor the fire resistance. Its all about the claim to have reverse engineered bosch so t plays nicely. It's that bit, which I think is same for you, that I'm just not sure about. Especially given the email I posted. Which I suspect was an unguarded moment as I've seen nothing like that publicly
  19. Well I do hope you are right. Still I just couldn't pull the trigger on a 200 euro case with bms and charger (no cells) For me the whole thing didn't pass the sniff test in the end. Happy to wait and see, if it all works out and , crucially, it does play nicely with bosch systems I'll pay the extra full price
  20. I'll surely update...if I can If I only get one hour to use my discount I won't buy. I simply cannot be online then (I'll be in an aeroplane above Europe somewhere!) However, the sniff test isnt being past for me. It's starting to feel like an scam. Folk are minded to go with and belive in something when invested. Even a dollar is mentally enough. Let's see, hope im wrong
  21. So how do you guys read this ? Is it really saying only one hour to use our discount? I don't believe it's clear I got this today btw "
  22. Hiya, Here the exact wording of their email to me "Hello Spanos, thanks for your message and for giving us a chance. It will definitely work with bafang. For Bosch we've managed to reverse engineer the protocols but they have so many updates that i cannot promise for all versions. Cheers" So make of it what you will! And I'd prob go molicel 35 or lg mj1. Both 3500 mah and 10a. Ive used the mj1 for years. Prob just get the cheapest at thr time !
  23. I've had a few emails back and forth with the owners. They run these batteries is a similar, albeit less smart form in two hire fleets. He also tells me they've reverse engineered bosch, brose and other protocols. Now that I'm very skeptical of. Even if they did, surely the next update from bosch or brose will stop it working. And that's an arms race they cannot win id have thought. Plus the myriad of different versions on bikes in the wild. Still these days I have an older bosch bike (moustache dual suss ) and my bbs02 conversion (to go south downs riding with my eldest now he is 14). If bosch doesn't work the bafang surely will. So I've paid my quid and will see what happens. I prob will just buy the casing and use different cells . Will report back as and when anything happens
  24. Hiya Planet x are doing small and powerful Lipo 8.4v packs for lights. Cheap as cheap and includes a teeny and nifty (if slow) usb charger that upscales to 8.4v This is 5200mah pack which runs my 3 cree solar storm on max for 2 hours https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/LIPXBP/planet-x-lipo-rechargeable-battery-packs
  25. I thought 18a was max on the bbs01 but guess it depends on supplier. I wouldnt risk 20a on a bbs01 personally. In fact I run my bbs02 at 21a when it can be programmed for 25a
