  1. Yep avoid rear rack, it's high and weight in the wrong place , makes bike unstable at maneuvering and high speed ,
  2. Th The only problem you may encounter is chain alignment front to rear, it depends on bike , a lot of guys fit the bling ring to fix/ improve the issue you may encounter, also check crank arms for tightness a few times after doing some runs as they tend to loosen , when kit is fitted don't labour the motor , they like to spin quickly to be most efficient, check serial numbers to make sure your kit has late type controller with better mosfets, if it's older type and you labour it ,it will go pop and you will have to fit later controller , no biggie, just a wedge of cash.
  3. Nice looking bike, climbing ability on these motors are great, so silent too, I have my keep current at 80, makes motor a little louder ,my display I have never got wet but they are supposed to be watertight, Brightonebikes on this forum has fitted a colour display to the max drive , looks mighty nice too.
  4. I would say ride it with the power off , no drop off point and will drag from the outset, then go to Halfrauds, get a test ride on a new one, see it that is the same and take it from there for resolution, my A2B metro was impossible to ride with motor switched off, my MTB with crystalyte hub dragged once the battery switched out with LVC or highest speed setting attained. Then it's just Man V 20 kilo plus of behemoth bike....... Bike wins, leaving a sweaty rubber legged pedelecer on kerbside gasping for air and water.
  5. It would be good to have supplier of the 25amp rated controller instead of Emax 20amp one , hope they come back with good price, My original 10ah battery with I think the 29 Samsung pinkies was ok for light commuting and gentle jaunts but any serious use or motors unlocked potential soon showed its unsuitability , 15 miles of low speed following pedal powered cycle I still had 3/4 battery life left ,yet I could do 15 miles and see it with a 1/4 left and feeling very lack lustre at full tilt. Yet to use my new battery to any length of distance and time as I have been to busy to use the bike after fitting it.
  6. Bms rating that Jimmy fitted is 50amp, he said that the 17ah GA cell pack would supply 22a without issue, a spin up the road at full whack sagged within a minute , only for it to recover after a few minutes of rest. You have me worried that I could destroy this pack , I may have to turn the motor down a little, For a little un it sure is greedy , many thanks to D8ve for input as I'm a bit of a thickie when it comes to all the tech stuff. Maybe I should find time to study amps and ratings a little more, surprised that the small motor isn't making heat with the large amperage going in, your thoughts?
  7. Also check out our greenway cross city pages on this forum .
  8. Hi our greenway have 33.350 motor on them, all difference we believe is that our 350 controllers are 25amp max the 250 is a 20 amp, they are set real low at 14amp and with a keep current of around 20% to get mileage out of the battery, mine is now running 22amps with a keep current at 80% I also run a 48t chainring , I still have the 38t on the inside and run the 48t in place of the ring guard,so I can swap if terrain gets real bad , works perfect , lines up better for the high speed road use too, hammers the standard battery if you give the bike the beans, I have upgraded my battery to a 17ah GA celled battery from Jimmy at insat, I still get sag , but I think that is the oversensitive display on the bike rather than the cells.
  9. My greenway goes in from the side is only 10ah tho is it called so6 model?
  10. I've not been out on mine for a couple of weeks, been real busy , if I get a chance I'll try to get out and have a listen to the motor see if I can hear anything ,I too am running 22 amps and unlimited speed (well 60kmh)still with the 48t sprocket, I know motor is working hard at times , even with GA cells I see the overactive battery meter moving downwards and recovering.
  11. Gringo, I'm up in Cov and get free travel, but not much free time, but Id be up for a spin round your way sometime
  12. Lovely to ride , I had the a2b metro, but when that battery goes flat it's like pedalling a moped with brakes stuck on.
  13. I reckon the stealer will offer a bag of sand for your old bike in part ex. Keep your bike, buy a greenway for another grand , add a few upgrades to make a top bike without the knickable name .and you'll still have enough for a slap up meal at Mrs Miggins pie shop, Shame you are up North from me as you are welcome to try mine out, think Redcup and Pal are closer to you ,they have both versions of the bike.
  14. On a trip out with the missus today in Ironbridge, sitting having a beer were a lovely couple with pair of KTM eMTB's his and hers, comfy seats fitted and a lovely pink hooter to warn folk they were coming through, I introduced myself and we had a little chat ,they said it was the best thing they had ever done buying a pair of ebikes, brilliant invention, wouldn't be without them and how fit they had become since owning them because of the easier effort required they use them so much more than a normal cycle. I told them of our pedelec community so they will probably be introducing themselves shortly.
  15. I had a guy do that when I was on a moped years ago, I drew level with him, to which he said that I shouldn't be on the road anyway and drove off! As a family youthful lad back then I followed him about 2 miles to which he pulled onto another drive and got out, i at first asked why no apology and then about the abuse, to which he replied with abuse and took a swing at me, I dodged and landed sweet on the end of his chin to which he hit the floor, he probably looks very carefully now before he backs off his driveway. I did notify police and they said if he calls them to put a complaint in they would contact me as witness to his careless driving lol.
  16. Having a tinker around when I swapped the battery on my greenway today, I took it upon myself to have a delve into the downtube with a hook as the seemed to be wires in there, low and behold there is a pair of wires in there which I believe to be for Ebrakes with connectors on, I'll be having another search to see if there is a throttle cable when I get a little more time, u got to love Bafang for the generic thinking .
  17. You got to admire the Dutch for some of these creations. I think I was about 16 when I last saw a pair of cowhorn bars like that.
  18. A quick update from electricbike blog review on the new Bafang Max Ultra drive 1000w I'm suprised they are only running 18amps through it , maybe because it's still in prototype level, but frames etc. Are being manufactured ready for its release. https://electricbike-blog.com/2017/03/19/because-you-need-to-start-excersicising-more-than-just-your-thumb-bafang-1000w-max-ultra-torque-sensing-mid-drive/
  19. I hate spellcheck and autocorrect to some word alien to the conversation , mind you the problem I am having with the battery I think the word may be correct , Dave.
  20. Some great info on updates to the bikes , good to see we are all enjoying this budget bike,I have to speak with Jimmy at bga, if I use the switch on the battery to turn battery off then back on, there is no life at all as if I have dead battery, however when I plug charger in it must change a diode or something in the BMS and all is then good, I can switch bike on and off as normal with the bike control on handlebars,
  21. Check out amazon, they have 44t and 48t 104 pcd £18 to £45 depending how flush you are at the time, remove the chain guard and fit the bigger chain ring in place of it , it lines up better for the top speed, u can also fit front mech for best of both worlds
  22. I've picked up but not fitted my 17.5ah GA called pack from BGA ,50amp bums discharge fitted so well up for the Max drive motor, I'm aiming to do a 50 mile jaunt to the missus house when weather is safe bet, How is motor temperature Redcup with your battery pack?
  23. Love this cycle carrier for towball, folds away and fits in seconds load capacity 30kg and only £50 https://www.decathlon.co.uk/xpress-970-towbar-cycle-carrier-2-bikes-id_8176983.html?iv_=__iv_p_1_g_38294000829_c_174448348725_w_pla-185333117576_n_g_d_t_v__l__t__r_1o1x_pla_y_15177021_f_online_o_1356560_z_GB_i_en_j_185333117576_s__e__h_9046153_ii__vi__&gclid=CLa07JOnsNMCFcFuGwodv1AAnQ
  24. Best advice members will give you on here is to not labour the motor , keep it spinning on hills or controller will go boom!
  25. Picture below is Same as my My Brompton NYC ltd edition of 1200 bikes worldwide I have the S6 version with telescopic seatpost, all white paintwork/ lettering is reflective long with the Shwalbe Kojak tyres , I'm seriously considering the tiny NSM13 motor kit as I wont have to mod the forks ,pretty quick under my own steam too, probably because the tyres are bald and around 120psi
