Lithium Chargers
Would the charger I find on ebay be ok though? It is a 'smart' charger - i.e. it will stop charging once battery is full. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=131111562281&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123

Lithium Chargers
Hi I have a Wisper 905 eco. I want to get a sperate charger for work and don't really want oto pay the £95 for an original. I can actually get an original from China from the manufacturer for much less. I saw this on ebay and wondered if it would work - same spec as the charger supplied: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=131111562281&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123 Anyone had experience / any understanding of these chargers?

Car rack
Hi I have the Wisper 905 eco. Planning to go away this summer. I already have roof bars but need to find a cycle carrier that can hold the bike - It weights about 19kg without batery and all the halfords carriers only allow up to 15kg - anyone have a recommendation?

905 eco electric problems
About 1 month ago, 1 day without any changes to the bike / bad weather conditions, the throttle is only giving me walking speed. Wisper support suggest it could be the 2 purple wires out of the controller that have become connected to put bike into walking mode - this was not the case - back to the shop and a new controller was fitted under warranty. Get bike home after testing in the shop all seems ok, no propulsion with throttle or even pedal assist now! Bouce the bike on the floor just incase of a faulty connection - bike now works! Cycle to work (12 miles) stopping roughly every 2 miles to bounce bike back into life. Call support - they suggest visually inspect the wiring and to also disconnect brake sensors just incase of a faulty brake sensor. No luck with all that, put everything back - now can't get bike to bounce into life again. Getting power from the battery to front console with LEDs to no problem with a fuse / battery - it's not a brake sensor so that leaves motor or controller again? Not very happy. Bike is back at the shop now - let's see what happens.

Wisper 905eco
Has anyone ever looked in to fitting a derestriction button to any of the Wisper eco models? From looking at a maintenance document I found on the web, it may be possible to add one since it simply plugs into the handlebar controller. Can anyone confirm that this is the case?

Wisper 905eco charger
Hi All, Anyone have any idea why the battery charger is a three pin plug (reminds me of a microphone XLR jack)? It's a little annoying that if I want a second charge I have to fork out £80+. Are there any alternative on the market that don't void my warranty?

Wisper 905eco Battery Fuse
Hi All, I recently had to replace the 30A fuse in my Wisper 905eco battery. The only ones I could find were glass fuses. Can anyone tell me if it is a problem using a glass fuse instead of the supplied ceramic type fuse? Everything seems to be perfectly normal so far!

Wisper 905eco - tough bike!
Just had my first ever collision, only had my bike 1 month. Coming home from work in a cycle lane and someone pulled out and hit my back wheel and it made a rather loud bang. Both car and bike seemed fine - a light came off which I put back on, and my chain fell off the front cog. A bit shaken up but got back on and off I went. Wheels and gears seem fine, as does motor, battery and controller!

Wisper 905eco battery
My commute is 10 miles both ways. Today I rode my Wisper 905eco to work and back for the first time (it was great!). When I got to work, I had only used 1/4 of the battery. I charged up the battery at work and returned to find the same at home - I had only used 1/4. Is there an advantage to charging the battery after every use or could I get away with not carrying my charger round and just charging the battery when I get home? A second charger cost about £90 inc p&p - I would rather avoid this cost!

New 905 eco problem
Problem was fixed by Wisper. They sent out a new motor and said that this is very rare and has not happened before.

New 905 eco problem
So have had my new wisper 905eco for 2 days now and had my first problem after 2 days of great fun! I was trying to run the battery down, as specified in the manual for conditioning. I had it down to 1 red light on the controller capacity inidicator. I then turned a corner and pulled the throttle and heard a horrid mateal scraping sound. Looked at the bike and noticed that the motor looked different. Now I'm not sure how to describe this but the black metal case screw type thing had come away from the main part of the motor - I could see the silver thread of the cap. I screwed this back in as tightly as I could and the bike was fine again. Can anyone explain what has happened here - should I be worried? How tight does this cap have to be? Thanks

EBike Storage
I like the idea of keeping my bike in the garage safe and locked but it is a bit of a pain having to get it out every morning (since the door is a bit naff). I just wondered what others do - bike shed / bike tent etc? Ideas?

Wisper 905 eco and sport differences
The only thing holding me back now is the bike weight. I had s test ride of the 905se today and just felt s little heavy. Should I worry?

Wisper 905 eco and sport differences
So by just talking to David at Wisper I now understand that the eco's speed is the same as the se upon being fully charged. As the battery is used over time, the se will outperform in both range and speed the eco. The eco is lighter due to less kit on the bike and a lighter motor and battery (the motor on the eco is different from that on the se. I think I am going to go for the eco since my commute is 10 miles at which point I can recharge during my working day.

Wisper 905 eco and sport differences
OK so I have decided I want a wisper. I like to the look of the Wisp 905 eco because of the cheaper price tag. Will I miss any power on the eco compared to sport - to me it looks like the same motor and battery - the controller has 6 levels on the sport but only 3 on the eco. Any ideas?

Powabyke X24 2011
Hi Pedelecs fans! I have been looking in to which e-bike I want to buy (my first purchase - currently on a 15 year old heavy mountain bike for my 10 mile commute from Leeds to Bradford - some lovely 2 mile hills!). I have pinned it down to the Powabyke X24 2011 - or maybe a Wisper 905. I am looking to spend £1000 - £1300 max. 24 gears seems like a good idea for a Yorkshire rider like myself. I want a bike that looks like a bike also - if that make sense? So... Friday I called Evans cycles - asked can they get the an X24 into their Leeds store for a test ride and to my shock I was told NOT TO BUY THE BIKE! They guy said that they have had nothing but problems with them and Powabyke have been difficult to help get things fixed. I don't want to believe him since it looks like a great bike, but at the same time, this could be true! Any advice pppllleeeaaassseee?? I have just been given the nod at work to purchase through cycle2work and need to get an ebike ASAP since my old bike is such hard work! Thanks in advance!
