  1. Many thanks for your efforts, Ian.
  2. Hi John, Happy New Year. Any progress with locating the positive?
  3. No worries - we all do it - thank goodness for e-mail recall!!
  4. Thanks John, I had previously looked at these and was left unconvinced as to the polarity of the sprung terminals on the bike. You are highlighting the dismantling procedure as suggested earlier? or maybe I am missing something?
  5. Thanks for your comment.
  6. Thanks Frank - and for the links. The eBay case is for the Shopper I think, not the Euro. Reference the batteries I was thinking of something lighter and smaller for this project (the original apparently slipped from wet hands at the top of concrete steps - hence it being non-existent now) something I can understand having previously dealt with 3 x SLA. I can always make a suitable case if it comes to it, or use an original Euro as PB did when they first used Lithiums.
  7. Think you didn't read the bit about there not being a battery?!?!
  8. POWABYKE EURO POLARITY - Hi All, just acquired a winter project of a PB Euro without battery or battery box; I can overcome this but currently not having a box to copy from I don't know which spring loaded terminal, when sat on the bike looking down at the controller, is the 36v +positive? I am guessing the right-hand one - can anyone confirm please? I have copied and attached for clarity, with thanks to PB, two pictures from manuals from the PB website and marked them with MY GUESS + & -. This guess is based on bad memory and red paint on one of the screws in one of the pictures! Many thanks in anticipation and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all
  9. Just had the same problem and sorted it thanks to this thread and d8veh. The magnets were both south on the faces towards each other (used a compass). Marked them, pried them out and super-glued them back in with north facing north. Also for info, red wire to red, green to green, and black to yellow.
  10. Hi, I am fairly new to Electric Bicycles and thought I would relate an experience which may help others. eBikes were brought to my attention due to living in an undulating, fairly remote landscape, the temporary (thankfully) loss of a driving licence, and a need to exercise more. After the loan of an eBike I first acquired a used Powabyke Folder and then also a used PB Euro 5 speed 24". Here comes the 'Hamster Syndrome' - a situation I had come across whilst reading http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/electric-bicycles/2348-changing-derailleur-windsor.html#post30178. Thanks flecc. I thought it worth mentioning again due to the Euro having been transformed - by cutting out the centre and bolting on an eBay sourced 40/48 toothed chain ring and guard (and I have since changed the 48T for a 52T and can fly along the flatter parts of the countryside with 'lazy legs'). I included the 40T sprocket in the modification just in case - a bit of stick would make an excellent derailleur! - but having got fitter haven't had to use it yet. Sorted for very little money 40/48T picture http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n525/sheryck/pedelecs/48T.jpg 52T picture http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n525/sheryck/pedelecs/52T.jpg
