  1. Just put on ebay. Almost new condition. To my shame it has been hardly used.
  2. Yup....a macbook air with an external hard drive for storage....it will automatically back the novel up and you keep it somewhere safe. The Kindle app is good......and you can read in the dark too and look at coloured books (I d like pictures!) like photography books and magazines. There is a eReader app for non kindle versions although I expect there is something to convert them too.....I must check that out!
  3. Rubbish!! There is always an "expert" who isn't!! I am happy with my iPad (2) 32Gb and have plenty of space left on it. It is versatile and can do things a laptop can't (apps for various things) starts instantly & just does it! I have the 3G version as I travel and cannot connect via WiFi always. I also have a macbook air......but I won't tempt you further!
  4. Hi Lynda, I will look out for a woman with a nicely knitted jumper riding around her motorhome on a speedy bike whilst reading the forum on her smartphone and being chased by a lttle dog!
  5. Plenty of wind resistance with a large white slab of motorhome! It should be OK as it will be tucked in low behind.
  6. Anyone know of a very lightweight cover to fit an electric bike (battery behind seatpost). It is a Volt Pulse. I will be fixing it t the cycle carrier that fits on a towball. I want the cover to keep the wet off when traveling. I have a large tarpaulin, but it is too unwieldy and my current cover is too short. Thanks Julie
  7. Hi Richard, I have sent you a pm. Hope to hear from you soon Julie
  8. Hi I am selling my AS 20" folder. 36v 250 watt motor. Only bought in February this year, but have now bought a Volt Pulse (full size bike). Still in warranty .....Till Feb for battery and further 15 months for bike. Nicely built. lots of extras.....cycle computer, storage bag, panniers, front bag etc. Total £750 when new......wanting £550 but open to sensible offers as I may be too optimistic!:o PM me Julie
  9. If you are interested I have an AS bikes 20" wheel step through folder bike (mk3 36v) for sale. It has hardly been used and is less than a year old. I bought it as it was a folder to put in my motorhome, but it is such a pfaff getting it in and out that I have put a rack on the back and bought a full sized bike. After service is excellent, the bike runs well without bells and whistles, but has a throttle and goes well enough. Pm me if interested it was £695 new so could be a bargain!
  10. An update.... I spent last Saturday trying bikes in London. Dermot in Battersea at ebikes direct was helpful, but there was nothing that was "just right". Lyle at electric bike store was also helpful and has put up with all my questions since. I eventually decided on the Volt Pulse. It should arrive tomorrow after a local bike shop checks it over and I can collect it from there. I am very excited and can't wait to give it a full test. I have a new carrier for the motorhome and am off to Scotland in a month so, weather willing, it will get a reall trial there.
  11. Disappointingly there are no Oxygen bikes anywhere until the end of December. I wonder how they can stay in business if there is no stock. I had just about decided on the emate city or the Diva if it was too large so I am back to the drawing board. I will try to find a Volt Pulse to try. I am finding it hard to find shops that have anything in stock to try....any ideas? Also the descriptions of the specs are variable so I cannot work out what the riding position is like so I need to try some out. As I want a throttle it rules out some including the crank drives. I want to look at the weekend and am prepared to travel a fair way so anyone know where I can try.....I can drive around several shops. Alternatively I can go to London to look at the Volts and is there anywhere else? Thanks Julie.....who thinks these bikes are like gold dust!
  12. I have had a look at the Cromer shop, but they did not have a FreeGo full sized bike in, I don't think. I did ride a Hawk once and it was a comfy ride. The Eagle is a better bike, I think? I really don't like the U shaped step through frames so I do need to try the size of the frames. The problem seems to be that I can't find a shop that stocks several makes so I am going to try to look at a few shops next weekend if possible.
  13. Thanks for the Cambridge suggestion. I can't run to Kalkhoff though! I'll see what else they have.
  14. I like the look of a couple of your bikes, where are you based and is it possible to try any out for size? I am very much a novice in this and am doing too much research and getting more confused! I suspect 26" wheels would be best so the size is kept down. Obviously the lighter the better as I will have to pick it up on occasions. I have a budget of about £1400 to £1500 if we go with plan A (a joint bike). The hub and crank systems are a mystery. I want to be able to cycle from my motorhome....I go to Scotland a lot so it needs to be fairly powerful. I would use it mainly on roads, but want to also go on tracks, but not serious MTB tracks or very thick mud. J
  15. I have been researching bikes and kits and have a plan A and a plan B now. Plan A is to buy a reasonably priced bike that will suit my partner and I to share. We are unlikely to need to use it at the same time so this gives us the opportunity to buy a better bike. So the issues are the size of the bike. She is 5'8" with an inside leg of 31" but I am 5'4" with an inside leg of 29" so I am the problem. So far I like the look of the Oxygen emate City, the Volt Pulse and the Kudos bikes. We want a throttle, decent components, front suspension. I'd also like a good control panel with speed etc, but I guess a cylce computer can provide this if not. I prefer a crossbar and do not want a Dutch style bike....just not me. Obviously I will need to try some bikes, but I can't find anywhere that has a good range of different bikes. I live in North Norfolk, so will need to travel! So any suggestions of bikes and shops would be great, please. Plan B is to convert my Giant XTC 4.5 small frame approximately 16" (not the extra small frame though) for me if no ady bikes fit me and partner buys a cheaper ebike for her. All suggestions gratefully received. Thanks in advance Julie
