Battery charged:- with battery upside down and led display away from you, counting L to R on underside lugs-voltage across Pins 1-4 = 41.8 volts , Pins 4-5 = 41.6 volts. Compared this to my similar battery ( although this good battery is a 15ah, 540wh) the results are very similar Pins 1-4 = 41.5v and pins 4-5 = 42.4v.

Symptoms-- On my Agattu the 3 blue LED battery indicator flashes at ( usually ) 1 second intervals. Battery charges OK and runs ok , but I believe this may be caused by cell imbalance. Tried several recharges- discharges but still same. Tried on another bike and fault goes with battery. It is a Derby Cycle 612wh 36v 17ah type - 3 years old. Sometimes the the leds flash in a faster cadence. The red leds on the battery itself work normally. Wondered if there is an easy way to check these cells?

I have not yet run it totally flat, but does anyone know how 50 cycles will "recalibrate" the battery. I assume they just run it flat until the motor stops. At this stage there is usually about 34 volts left.

I have tried the different charging methods but it made no difference to mine either. I will try to totally discharge the battery putting a load onto this to reduce further as I believe that once the battery is flat, the BMS re-calibrates. I have run the battery flat last time , but only until the motor stops, but there is still plenty of voltage in the cells at this stage. Not sure if I can reduce the voltage any further with a load , due to the intelligent BMS, but going to give it a go. My battery is 6 months out of warranty. I have also noticed now that the motor is sluggish to kick in from a standing start due to this battery issue.

That's because the blue power indicator leds do not indicate the power left in the battery.

I have a Kalkhoff Agattu bought in Jan 2014 , and now have a problem with my 612wh battery.( 17amp) Every time I power up, the leds that indicate battery capacity display on the handlebar flashes rapidly , sometimes the frequency changes to that of rapid winking. I have proved that the problem is the battery as changed with another battery on my other Agattu and fault stays with battery on either bike. I have "reset" battery by riding until cut off , and recharging, but fault still exists. Tried again--with same. After complete recharge and holding battery button in get 5 leds , then holding for greater then 5 seconds , I just get 4 leds display which indicate battery efficiency is down to 80%. I have done about 2500 miles on this bike. As battery is out of warranty- wondered if anyone has had this problem before I explore if there is anything that can be done as these batteries are hugely expensive.

Has anyone had a problem with the Torq motor cutting out and the diags displaying 8 led flashes to indicate a hall sensor problem. Mine has cut out several times this week but on switching off and then on again all is ok, and I am able to continue my journey. When the problem occurs, the battery indication meter displays as normal, but thought I heard a noise coming from the motor before it temporary died. This problem started about a week ago after cycling for many days in rain. Guess it could also be a controller fault. The bike has dried out since the rain but problem still occurs.

I did consider the outlay of a new battery against the cost of purchasing a new bike, but as my Torq2 is still in really good condition and I still love it after 3 years, a new battery it will be. Anyway- it is the cheaper option!

Many thanks NRG--I think I will have to seriously consider purchasing one of these 14ah batteries as my 10ah battery seems to become somewhat depleted.

Ezee 14ah battery Does anyone know the approximate distance range of one of these higher capacity batteries if cycling on the flat and used in pedal assist mode as I have heard that this can give 50 + miles. I currently have a 10ah battery that is two years old and am lucky if I get 17 miles out of it now-- and that is on the flat and only used in pedal assist mode. Will be considering getting one of these new batteries and possibly before the dreaded VAT rise.

Wondered if anyone has had a similar problem to me. I have a 37v Battery on my wife's Alien bike and the battery will not charge. The charger indicates green led as soon as it is plugged into the battery . I have tested both the external and internal battery fuses and they are ok. I have tested the voltages on the battery at charger input and the output and can see the voltage on both. I have tried the charger on another battery and it charges ok-- LED goes red and the battery voltages increases gradually. It all points to the battery but initial tests look ok. I am not sure if there are any BMS components in the battery itself. This was a replacement battery from Alien and they say that the battery and charger was ok when it left them , and if I used the charger on another battery to prove the fault , I have invalidated the warranty , as batteries and chargers are only to be used on same type , but I tried to charge the battery straight away , so I know there was a fault before I used it. The fault on the old battery seemed to be on the key switch as there was little or no voltage on the output pins.

I bought mine last week and set it up on my GT off road bike. Jolly good value for £3.99 and wireless as well!!

E-bikes and motorbikes Well , you are never to old for a motorbike , in fact I enjoy motorcycling more now that in my "early days". I have a Triumph Bonneville and my Torq , but love my motorbike more as it makes more noise:D
