  1. Thanks for that......this one is front wheel drive, and has disk brakes......Jorvic seem to have a good name, and they are made in England I believe.......
  2. Thanks.....this model has a 250 watt motor, so is road legal......and a top speed of 15.5 mph....is's supposed to have a range of "about" 50 miles......more than ample for what I need......
  3. Hi, not been on here for quite a while......had to sell my e-bikes, due to operations in legs, anyway, I'm now looking at buying an E-trike......currently looking at the Scout E-SCOUT 24 model......anyone got/had one of these ?.......any thoughts welcomed......
  4. Not quite fully charged, have been out on it since the last charge.........
  5. Well, have established that out of the five terminals on the battery, it is the two outside one's that give the voltage reading.......this is a 36 volt battery, so a reading of 40 volts, when fully charged, is I believe correct.......just got to figure out how to attach two wires to the terminals, and we are half way to having a working volt meter......
  6. Well, this has been a fascinating subject, but I might just do what I did with the Powacycle.......it will entail getting a handlebar mount 'phone holder, and a voltage tester, as I recall, on the Powacycle the voltage tester wasn't turned on all the time, just before, and then at various times during a journey, because as stated earlier the true voltage would fluctuate too much when under load......now, which two wires to splice into ?.........
  7. Yes, that's it.....just one that gives a constant voltage read out.......
  8. Well, it seems that there is a bit more to it, than just wiring a volt meter up to the battery........I think further research is called for........
  9. Back in the day (about ten years ago) I got my first Ebike......a Powacycle Salisbury, which I thought was quite good, back then there was no handlebar mounted display, so I fitted this homemade voltage meter, which worked very well, and I always knew how much juice was left in the battery.......fast forward 10 years and the Pendleton is now on the road, it DOES have a handlebar display, but it's only a simple thing with 4 or 5 lights on it.......I'm looking at adding a volt meter, to tell me the exact voltage at all times.......anyone got any suggestions ?.........
  10. Thanks for that......Yes, I hear what you are saying, and will be keeping a close eye on the spokes.......
  11. That's the two new spokes fitted, and the existing one's tightened up, just about to re-assemble the freewheel, and put the wheel back in the bike......first time I've done this, but couldn't be easier really......thoroughly enjoyed the entire operation !!...........
  12. Maybe a little clearer, but not much......the splines go all the way down, also, as well as saying Freewheel on it, it says RunRace......or SunRace or something, hard to read, it may or may not be significant........
  13. Well, I have established, from watching the video above, and also due to the fact that it has it stamped on it it, that I have a Freewheel, rather than a cassette..........also I have discovered that the bike was manufactured in 2018......now, which removal tool do I need ?.........
  14. Thanks, will have a look.......
  15. Thanks for that......not too sure how old this one is, I'm guessing there must be a number on it somewhere, that will give year of manufacture ?.......
  16. Thanks for that......I shall remove the rear wheel tomorrow, and find out......this one has eight gears by the way...........
  17. Well, that's the spokes just arrived, and they appear to be the correct size/gauge.....it seems that I will have to remove the cogs, or cassette I think it's called, so presumably will need a Shimano/ SRAM cassette unlocker ?........this seems a fairly easy task, but not something I have done before, any tips, and tricks gratefully received.........
  18. Apparently Ryan is on holiday this week....so giving these guys a try.....Custom Cut Spokes.....very easy to deal with, fingers crossed I have ordered the right size spokes and nipples !!.........
  19. Well the guy in Halfords reckons that the spokes are 13 G.....to my surprise they still sell the Pendleton, but don't keep the spokes in stock, so about to order them from Spokes From Ryan....
  20. Well, still not managed to find out what gauge spokes the Pendleton uses.......maybe a walk along to Halfords tomorrow, not very hopeful, but they did use to sell the things..........
  21. Thanks for the tip, I will certainly do that......I think I may have used Ryan before, when I needed spokes for that Batribike.......just wondering what gauge of spoke this Pendleton actually uses ?...........
  22. Well, first trip out on the old girl, and first impressions are very good.......only about a six mile round trip, but all went well......in mode 1. It's nice and gentle, in mode 2. It's quite fast, in mode 3. It goes like a rocket !!........just cleaning things and adjusting the brakes, I notice it has two broken spokes in the rear wheel, apparently Pendleton's are noted for this, I might have some in me shed.......
  23. I know the bike from new, the lady I bought it from used it daily for getting to work, a round trip of about 4 miles........these Pendleton's are not really that powerful, and don't have a particularly good name, but it will do for me......just glad to be back out again !!
  24. Typical !!......scour the country, looking for an E Bike, and end up buying one from your next door neighbour........yes it's a ladies bike, but just what I need, as I struggle to get my leg over......battery is in good condition, and currently on charge.....paid 200 quid for it, which I thought was reasonable.........off out "on test" tomorrow.......
  25. Yes.....not a mistake I want to make again.........
