well its quite a distance for me to carry a long piece of wood, a spirit level and a tape measure to, when i am on the bike. is there an online ordnance survey map i don't want to buy one. but i do have a protractor. i presume steepness is measured in degrees from horizontal? or is it 1 in 10 type thing like you see on road signs? i can guess that the angle of the hill i am trying to get up is about 35degrees from horizontal

please can someone tell me what power electric motor would i need to get to have the same power output as a 49cc two stroke petrol motor. maybe if i get this new motor i will be able to go up hills.

i have a battery size 15inch by 4.5inch by 4.5inch. i would like to know what technology provides the most amphourage in this size of battery. this question is for the physics/chemistry professors on this forum if there are any. i know of lithium and NiMH batteries etc. , but has anyone tried a fuel cell?

thankyou for the info. i bought this partly because the motor is unboltable so it seems i could put something better on it sometime (unlike bikes which have the motors in the centres of wheels), and because its 24v, so couldnt i add 2 12v batteries? do you know where to get 24volt lights from?

i have bought a new electric bike. it is this advanced model : izip it makes a lovely noise. are the newer models quieter? i want to know about any conversions for this model such as: 1. adding a 2nd battery on a rack above the back wheel and how to wire it (could i add two 12v batteries?) 2. where to get and how to wire 24v lights to the battery 3. how to reduce the noise it makes, does it come from the motor or the gearing? 4. can i get a more powerful motor so that i don't have to push it up hills? should i get a stronger chain? anyone know what how many amphours the battery is? is there a battery of the same physical dimensions that has more amphours in it?
