for sale KALKHOFF AGATTU IMPULSE 2.0
The bike is in immaculate condition. I bought it last year from 50 Cycles but have only done 72 miles on it. I have finally, very reluctantly. had to recognise that at the age of 83 things aint what they used to be and that my cycling days are over. So this lovely machine deserves a new owner who can use it as intended. 26" wheel model. 46cm step through frame. 8 speed, ' clutchless' gear change, hydraulic brakes etc Price £1450. Cash only. Buyer collects from Middleton-in-Teesdale.

STUPID QUESTION
Thank you all - especially the imaginative suggestions - but it turns out that on this model the frame number is on the seat post behind the battery. So with battery lifted out of the way I have been able to read it by merely leaning forward. A relief!!

STUPID QUESTION
where do I find the frame number on my Kalkhoff Agattu HS 8G ( excuse I'm 82 and have mobility problems so avoid bending down too often)

KALKHOFF IMPULSE 2 NO GO
I have been away for under 3 weeks. Before I went all was fine. Battery about 60% charged, When I came to take it out today nothing happened when I pressed the on switch for the display. No useful suggestions in the troubleshooting section of the manual. Any ideas please?

Flevobike e orca
The reason I ask is that one of my sons tells me he is thinking about getting an assisted version and I can't find many details. He rides recumbent bikes which he has to have adapted because he only has one arm. ( the other one got chewed off by a tiger - but that's another story). Currently he is in Bulgaria having cycled there from home. 2441 miles so far. Now pondering his route back. Looking like Ukraine and Poland, Germany, Holland but not decided yet.

Yet another journalist......
I agree Flecc. It is all in those two words" culture" and "attitude". The culture is so ingrained, the attitude negative where it is not hostile. Look at the old newsreels. They poured out of the factory gates in their hundreds - on bicycles. Well the working classes did because they couldn't afford anything else, and cycling clubs flourished with, in the North East at least, annual Meets where clubs comprising hundreds of cyclists all got together at Whit and similar times. Now the descendants of those people can afford to go out in their cars and as you say wouldn't dream of cycling. An unconscious inverted snobbery?

Yet another journalist......
No doubt because they live in a cycle friendly country and have an infrastructure to go with that - and we don't.

A venerable ebike
Yes it was a lovely bike and it and I did many miles together both up north in this country and in Extremadura Spain. More reliable cycling weather out there!

ADAPTORS
Does anyone have experience of using adaptors for Woods to Schrader valves? How good are they?

Battery Conditioning
Thank you Flecc. Concise and clear advice, as always.

Battery Conditioning
Flecc said that as well I recall. But I have just looked at the latest 2014 manual for the Kalkh0ff Agattu Impulse and is says that the battery should be discharged fully the first three time to get best long term performance. Comments please

I use the trike for shopping but I have been out on country roads with the folder. It does the job well . My only criticism would be that the gearing is far too low. In practice I put it in top and leave it there. With six levels of assistance it's all you need and it flattens out the hills no problem, even steep ones that I used to struggle up on a 'normal' bike.- batribike
I have two of them for past 18 months: the folder and the trike. Since I am 82 I use them like disabled scooters but they are cheaper, quicker, easier and faster. Purchase was easy and any queries handled promptly and efficiently both at time of purchase and since. Have had no problems with either. Trike with its baskets from and rear is ideal for a shopping trip.- Which bike do you own
is it time to revamp the list of makes for this poll since 75% of responders own machines under the heading 'other' ?- Gazelle Easy Glider
Well I am only about 5ft 5 ins these days and I can ride it as I have since new. It is only arthritic hips that are getting the better of me these days.- Gazelle Easy Glider
What can I say. It is as I recall a Thule carrier. It is a strong beast Designed to carry 2 bikes although I have only ever used it for my Gazelle. Perhaps the easiest would be to e mail a photo to you? Yes?- Gazelle Easy Glider
Bill It is a 49 cm frame. The battery is the 10 ah version David- Gazelle Easy Glider

Are there any reviews of this bike or does anyone have personal experience of riding/ owning one?- Back again
Not really a newcomer to pedelecs. Have been a member for a few years but what with one thing and another went AWOL so to speak. So I'm back and delighted to report that despite my now 80 years am still happily getting about on my Gazelle Easy Glider. :it revolutionised my cycling when I bought it from Cycle Heaven in York and continues to do so both here in Teesdale where we have real hills all of which I can ride, and in Extremadura where I spend my summers. There the hills are more of the undulating kind but the weather is consistently cycle friendly which it ain't always at home here. Delighted to see that Flecc is still providing advice to a high level. He was an enormous help to me in my newbie days.- Battery Life
Thank you for those helpful replies. The reason for my query is that I will be going off to a remote part of Extremadura in Spain in mid May to spend the summer there as I usually do and didn't want to find myself without assistance from my Gazelle. At 79 I can't walk far these days but on my 'magic carpet' the world is my oyster. It also helps as I do my regular 20kms circuit into the local village that the terrain is only undulating (and not straight up and down as it is here at home in the northern Pennines) Plus the weather of course. Apart from the very occasional thunder storm it seldom if ever rains and the wind tends to be no more than a breeze most days. Week after week ...cycling heaven for this old crock. So all being well I'll have a spare new battery with me this year and can see with a relaxed eye just how my 3 year old battery performs. - batribike
