As there is more and more eBikeMaps users, we are now starting to develop community tools. There is now the possibility to discuss with each others. You can also give us your feedback in one click thanks to the new 'Feedback' button present on any pages. Your feedback really matters to us and guides us for future eBikeMaps development .

Trip simulator
We have recently improved the POI management system : -more marker types, -possibility to attach an image, -longer text, -private (only you can see the marker) or public (visible for all). Our goal is to make it easier to find locations to have a break (e.g. for lunch) while charging to allow longer rides with smaller batteries. We already have many points of charge in the French Alps. We are in the process of increasing the POI density on eBikeMaps. If you know some ebike friendly locations where you can easily charge a battery, you can add them to your account and make them visible for all. Let us know if you have any difficulties or remark. Warning : you cannot edit information about previously introduced POI. You need to remove them and add them again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Trip simulator
Editing trips has become more convenient in the eBikeMaps trip planner, thanks to the possibility to drag segments between two points .

Trip simulator
To be more precise in your planning, now, you can place unlimited "check points" to define your trip (previously limited to 10) . We have also introduced a more accurate battery state estimation. It is not enable by default as it is slower. You can click on "Improve Simulation" to access more accurate results once you have edited your trip .

We now have a first version of the profile sharing system. Here is one of my speedelec Ebike Maps profile. You need to be log in and have less than 3 bikes. Anybody can share an ebike profile by clicking on the blue button "Share my bike" in the bike tab .

Trip simulator
You can do it if you register and log in. Then, click on the tab "Profile" and click on the "edit" button. Here you can edit the biker weight and rider power levels. If the prediction is not accurate enough and you have a wattmeter, you have many options to improve the model. -Click on the tab "bikes" and edit a bike profile. Check that all parameters are ok (you can check graph on the right to see predicted behavior depending on slope and rider power level. -If you can register consumption at 5, 10, 15, 20... kph on a flat road, then you can use this information to fit the real friction model tacking into account motor model. See the blue button "optimize friction model" in bike properties. (I have to do a tutorial video on this). -Once you have both a good drive system and friction force model, you can register few trips with know travel time and energy consumption to get an unbiased model (empirically taking into account external environment). You can check the corresponding tutorial video. I believe that with these parameters, you should get the best prediction. Then, you always have to deal with the fact that depending on the rider power level input, battery consumption can vary a lot in some cases. Most of the time, I am looking for an interval using 2 riding powers more than one predicted value having less meaning.

Trip simulator
I wanted to mean that the bike creation should work. The global bike profile sharing system is not done yet but it is in our priority list There are only private profiles so far... >>Also how do you change speed setting from kmh to mph and distance to miles? This cannot be done so far, we also plan to work on localisation options (language and unit). >>Plus can the suggested routes be made alterable/ point draggable. This is also a feature we would like to work on.

Trip simulator
Hi guys. We are now working part time on Ebike Maps, and we will involve more developing time in few months. The current version should already be working pretty well and there are already many functionalities to discover . We are working on making it simpler and we would like to develop new functionalities such as a bike profile sharing system, smartphone version... You can have a look at the Ebike Maps tutorial videos. More are coming. >>Seems a work in progress as setting the bike profile is unfinished In principle, it should already work... We have about 500 ebikes profile so far... However, we are often discovering new bugs for specific settings. For any problem, you can report it in this thread or contact us with the Ebike Maps contact form. I will be very attentive to your remarks.

Electric bike trip simulator
Hi there again, I am now working on a more complexe electric bike trip simulator => Ebike Maps. Still in beta and a lot of development but already much better. I can help you if you have question ?

Also, you may have a look to our youtube channel if you want to see original use of electric bikes: skiing without ressort and without petrol ( ...) The simulator was designed for this purpose at the origin...

Electric bike trip simulator
>>It might be worth changing the caption to "battery age". It is done in the last version of the electric bike trip simulator >>The only thing now is that the average speed looks a bit high. On my hilly route on a bike limited to >>25kph with lazy power, it's giving an average speed of 26kph. >>the assumptions about average speed are a little optimistic with those hills involved The problem is that in the current version, I do not take into account the fact that hub motors have a power which depends on the speed (it also depends a lot on your controller in fact). Thus, it makes you climb at 25kmh where you should probably climb at 20kmh. Consequently, the simulator is a little bit optimistic in trip time for hilly areas but not that much from my experience. >>What do these mean where crank drives are concerned : >>Geared >>Direct Drive >>With transmission >>Transverse Flux You should have a look to the electric bike motors page. Also, I have change with transmission for mid-motor which is more appropriate. >>If it can just take Sustrans Cycle Routes into consideration, it'll be superb. I rely on Google for cyle road, there is a type of road "bicycle path" but it mainly works in the USA. Maybe you can try ? >>Is it possible to get this to work with the Open Cycle Map? Google have a great API. I don't know "Open Cycle Map", I may have a look for the future... >>Is it possible to download this to my phone, and if so, how ? I will see if I can do a version which works well on smartphone, however, this is not my priority (I don't have one !) And thanks again for all your usefull feedbacks !

Electric bike trip simulator
Thanks for all the positive comments Maybe you input the letter "o" instead of the number 0, and the simulator interpretes the number 2o as 2 ?

Electric bike trip simulator
Hi there. I would like to introduce my recent work on an electric bike trip simulator. I think that this tool should prove useful to help people to understand how fast and how far they can ride with their electric bike. It is especially usefull for hilly areas as it includes the elevation profile of a trip. I hope that you will like it. Also I know that the trip editing is not very easy and there is a bug if you click on the reload button of Firefox (I don't know why !). Also, you can use the Reinit trip button top start a new trip or simple choose Chrome
