Thank you very much for all the help but its different on the Kalkhoff. I have gone into into it (opened it up to look if there was a port inside) and it just hasn't got anything like that. I opened up the base unit it sits in too and nothing in there either. I did find one problem when I checked it all out though, the cable under the forks that leads to the lights had moved and rubbed on the front wheel and exposed the wires and thats what caused the error message that came up just before it stopped working I'm sure (it happened when was trying it out to see if there was a loose connection anywhere). I have fixed that and now just have no idea what to do next? I think it needs resetting somehow but just no idea how to do it? Whatever happens I will post it so that the next person will have some ideas as well.

Thank you very much for the help but my dial doesn't have a usb port (100% I opened it up and no hint of one). I've tried another battery and its the same it reads a full battery but 0 miles range. I called 50cycles and they promised to call me back but haven't for two days ......... At a huge loss what to do next now :(

I've had something weird happen today along the same lines with my BS10. (I truly love it btw and will post a proper review of my first few months as a Elecbike user/owner soon) I have a new battery that I have been using for the last month and today on the way home it stopped working (the assist that is). Strange thing is that the battery shows full on the lights and on the trip computer but the range says 0. I fully charged it and it still says 0 on the range but that the battery is full ?????????? Any ideas anyone pretty pretty please I have only not had it for a few hours but I love it that much I cant stand the thought of being without it

As a result of this thread I got in touch with Electrifying Cycles and today received a nice shiny 400w battery in the post It says its got about double the distance of the one on it fully charged so I guess the old one has lost a bit of power over the 300 charges its last owner said it had received. Thanks to Electrifying Cycles for a quick reply and great service at a good price After I get to use it next week I will report on how I get on with my new bike ,,

No I'm definitely not feeling brave so I will probably stick to Bosh. My main reason for asking is that from what I can see I cant really buy a battery much bigger than the one fitted to this bike (I think the one on the new endeavour will fit and is slightly better but not much). Do Bosh do a larger Ah battery that will fit and if so where can I buy one? Thanks for your reply and forbearance with my ignorance

Thats to do with the distance I want to cover more than the bike.... The back story is that I have always tried to be pretty fit but have had some injuries that I have had to work around.. I used to play rugby untill I broke two bones in my back and spent six months in a wheelchair twenty years ago, I then got into weight training then more football cricket and golf, last few years both cruciates have gone (one operated on and one needs it) so I got into cycling for my cardio (boardman hybrid) but new I have quite bad early onset arthritis (I'm forty and it started at 21) and really bad tendinitis in both my Achilles so mornings are a nightmare. I'm a PT and teach trainers in a gym thats a 38 mile round trip and know that with my problems I won't use my bike as often as I'd like to go to work but hope the Kalkhoff will mean I will use a bike more for the trip and hopefully get my fitness levels back to be happy to use my boardman to go to work then train people for up to ten hours then cycle back...

So I have read ! Hopefully I can avoid all that and just stick to getting and contributing information about owning and using my new bike.

On a slightly different track can I ask if it is possible/difficult to fit a larger capacity battery (and where can I buy one) to this model please? If the only possibility to increase the range is to carry a second bosh battery then I guess thats what I will probably do, are there options as to where I can buy this as I can only find one option online? Thanks in advance
