1. The LBS recommended I contacted Zoco (local distributor). Awesome customer service as they're sending out a replacement wheel +hub. Should have it by friday!
2. Got a little annoyed today. Got my rear wheel back after taking it in to be fixed for 2 broken spokes. Ended up being 3! Had to wait 3 days as they didn't have the gauge or length due to the alfine. Put it all back together, thought I would go for a test drive, pushed my foot on the pedal "twang" there goes number 4. Will see if I can get it dropped off tomorrow. As I keep getting reminded, this has supposed to save in train fares... not cost $35 every time I ride. Worrying a little in case the quality of the wheel isn't up to the torque of the motor!
3. I use strava, just to see if I am improving my times on my commute as I hopefully get a little fitter. I bought a generic iphone holder from ebay. On a trip home in the dark, I peaked at just over 52km/h on a hill, and glided over a bridge to notice that my holder was open and empty. Called my wife on my work mobile, got her to log into me.com and see if it had any signs of life. After 45 minutes of searching found it. Screen in tact but with a severly scuffed side/back. I think the moral is that I should have paid more $$$ and bought a quad-lock

Let's just hope he's not ginger
5. Dogs don't frequent the cycle paths on the way to work. A pretty view a long the river, but have to dodge scrub turkeys, possums at night, kangaroos on the way to the pub. Even had a bearded dragon (in winter) sunning itself one morning! As for englishmen... plenty of those... most MAMILS on a morning commute
6. Not quite the scenic tours your all having, but had a few kms with the young fella today. Not sure if dodging kangaroos is interesting enough to mention There's an entire mob on the hill, kinda hard to see.
7. The xtreme arrived today. Managed to put it together after the kids were in bed. All is pretty good apart from needing to have the front wheel trued as it's got a fair wobble. I've not ridden bike in 20 years, but suprised myself. I told the wife i was going to ride around the block unpowered just to get a feel for a bike again. But ended up turning it on. A trip around the block turned into a 10km round trip, in a suprisingly short time. The rear shock squeaks a little at times, but i think that is just the spring. The torque suprised me, even on some of the local hills. So did the downward speed! The weight of me + bike gives the feeling the the throttle is on full, let alone when the motor is on too. All in all am happy. The alfine is taking a little to get used to, but not "crunching" too much. I think once the confidence kicks in, It's gonna be a lot of fun.
8. Dunno mate, bloody cold at the moment. low of 14, high of 22
9. Still waiting for delivery, appears because of the public holiday here on Monday, it will be next Wednesday by the time I receive it... And it looks like I will be flying to blighty on a short notice trip, so I have to wait even longer. At least I can leave winter to the glory of summer, right???
10. You can add me Queensland, 4074, Australia
11. Sadly they don't offer a higher 48v at the moment. I will see how it goes, if it's not enough, I can always get a second battery at a later date. Either that or get a CA or something with a switch to govern what I put through it. Reality is, I don't know yet how it will perform, i'm 196cm and 110kg at the moment, so that's gonna impact the range too. but it's a start, and I have a feeling after a month or two, I may end up buying a non powered bike and doing the 17km each way to work a day or two a week.
12. I'd read about this, but the only time it's a worry, would be when you need to stop. the brakes kick in then anyhow. Apparently the sensor for the brakes kick in before the actual pads, so they can also act as a clutch. I guess I will wait and see
13. If there were donkey rides and deckchairs here, it would be complete.
14. Yeah, it's all covered by a warranty. I think I will install a switch beneath the battery box for the PAS so I can turn it off as required. I heard lot of people mentioning gear crunching on the standard gearing, ZOCO usually install Nuvinci, but not sure why they opted for the alfine. I've read reports of users enjoying the Nuvinci, but not heard anything about the alfine. I'll let you know.
15. Entertaining??? Please tell me I've not made a mistake with the bike????
16. Thanks Lynda It does feel cold, the hottest I've ever felt in my life is in the UK, the coldest is here. I'm trying to find places to go, put will have to take baby steps I think! however much I want to cycle down the side of Mt Coot-tha! I've be sure to take a camera, if ever I take it to the coast... It's a little prettier than Cleethorpes
17. Delivered, am not going all the way up the coast for it I don't think it'll get here until next week though. I work for the same company that's delivering it. I hope I can trust them not to break it!
18. Nope, cold today! Sweater weather, an overcast 19C! Damn winter.
19. Hey all, I'm Gary from Brisbane (well, for just shy of 10 years, Lincs originally so I don't feel too bad posting on a UK forum ). I'm about to become the owner of a Zoco (Tonaro), am getting itchy to go for some rides!
20. hey guys, thought i would say hi. I'm waiting on delivery of my Zoco extreme, which is one of the many names over here in oz. It's the 48v 500w version with a few other nice additions. You can see it here Xtreme/. It's my first electric bike, and will be the first bike I've ridden in over 15 years!
