  1. Hi all, Not been on for a long time. Just got a new bike with bosch gen 4 motor. It's a different beast to my gen 3 bike and the gearing is a bit high (too easy). I know on the gen 3 with small 16 tooth chainring there were 18 and 20 tooth options. Anyone know if the same goes for gen 4 or is it too early ? Looking to go maybe 40 from 38 standard as hardly using gears 1-3 and legs like a blurr at 28mph. Tia.
  2. Hi there, Had a chinese built in uk rear hub drive bike at £750 for 3 years 16 mile round commute and was brilliant. Sold and bought a scott with bosch gen 3 performance cx 500wh kept 2 years same commute + leisure 2300 miles. Now bought a moustache gen 4 bosch. Gen 3 with small chainring was I found hard work without assistance and on hard climbs in turbo was tough. Now the gen 4 performance line seems a whole different game... Normal size chainring lighter motor and I can cycle without any assistance quite happily and when you need assistance it comes in and out virtually unnoticed . An absolute joy.
  3. having ridden bike more and starting to try the battery more. i lose the first bar after the first good hill and generally seem to be on last green bar when i get to work (9.5 miles). always get full bars on down hill or when i'm pulling. home journey sees me dipping to yellow but still back to full , off load. and i have just this week done a third run for the first time and, surprise red and yellow pulled me just the same but off load only got me 3/4 leds back. so best part of 30 miles on a full charge, being as i bought the bike for exercise i'm pulling most of the ride but have two good hills and two medium hills going and 4 good ones on my way home.
  4. hi all, would just like to thank everyone for their input on this cycle. decided to splash the cash a month ago and could not be happier. bought it purely for commuting to work which is a 20 mile round trip with some good hills and on my feet for ten hours in between. "at my age (50) i now need a little help" good communication from Ryan and Lara, bike arrived as stated and assembled in 30 mins battery leds lit up full but they only give a real reading under load so please do as they say and charge it up when you get it. i don't think i would buy it as a mtb but commuting is awesome, not checked the full range of battery power yet, but gets me 20 miles plus , no problem. battery bracket vibrated loose once but not since tightening and stand leg did same and dropped off in road but stayed put since . nothing you wouldn't get with any other bike. it looks great and everyone is impressed at how it pulls. thanks,
