Dingle? Sorry Dongle..

Hi all... Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere buy... I am the proud owner of a new Haibike with the latest Bosch drive system. When I asked the dealer about fitting the dongle to increase the speed of the bike, he warned that if fitted my warranty would be void. Although this seems reasonable and indeed I wouldn't want to lose my warranty, I wonder how so many people seem to go ahead with the mod. I suppose my question is, if I fitted this unit and then removed it in the event of a problem, would there be evidence that one had been in place. The latest dongle seems to need the wires splicing. Once this was done it couldn't be hidden. Any thoughts please..
