  1. Dave, I have emailed you back. I have never been offered a refund but I have requested one although I don't think I'm getting there with that. No the bike is not stored outside.
  2. Thankfully I bought this contraption using a credit card so I've now got Visa on the case to get me a refund since the bike has spent more time being "repaired" than in my possession. The dealer sent a knuckle-dragger round to collect my bike yesterday, the same one that allegedly fixed it. Apparently they're going to attempt another fix and wouldn't discuss a refund as he was just doing as he was told and the store manager is off. Sigh. The really irritating thing is that I wanted an electric bike to commute to work on but since it isn't working I'm having to drive to work which costs me £7.30 a day in parking plus petrol so thus far having an electric bike has saved me diddly squat.
  3. Thanks hech. My iPad likes to autocorrect trex I think I was unfortunate and just got a duff bike which was further compounded by the dealer. Really it should have been exchanged since it didn't work in the first place and I should have insisted upon it. One of the dealer's mechanics is coming round to look at it this lunch time in the hope that it's something simple and a quick fix. A quick fix they were unable to find/do in the 6 weeks they just spent "repairing" my bike.
  4. I sent you an email David
  5. Thanks for the recommendations Trex. If I can't get the Wisper sorted I'll have a look at them.
  6. I don't do that many miles at the moment because I live in the city centre, so probably about 30 miles a week. I'm moving further out of town soon though so I estimate my weekly milage to go up to 60+ miles.
  7. Hi Mike, I had read good things about the Wisper bikes so that why I got one and I think I might have just been unlucky and got a duff one. The dealer hasn't been the best, in fact the mechanic I dealt with was patronising and kept telling me that I hadn't charged the battery. Thanks RobF, I'll have a look at that link.
  8. I bought a Wisper 705 Classic last November from Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative and it hasn't worked properly from the get-go. I paid just under £1,800 for the bicycle and since EBC can't fix it I'm asking them for a full refund. I would still really like an electric bike as I live in Aberdeen (lots of hills) and I think it's the best way of getting about, especially when I have to nip between offices for meetings as parking can be a nightmare and is expensive. I'm just at a bit of a loss as to what electric bicycle to go for. I've been put off Wisper by this experience and don't want to spend more than £1,800. I also like the step-thru, Dutch style frames as I can wear skirts and dresses without flashing my knickers at passers-by. I was looking at the Kalkhoff Agattu i8 HS Step-thru and would appreciate anyone's opinion on this bicycle or any others they think would be worth having a look at. I'm just at a bit of a loss and don't want to buy another clanger.
