  1. If you're still looking try - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144373199295
  2. Hi, I've just bought a 1500W hub motor with a weird (to me!) waterproof connector. No motor cable was supplied so after an hours googling I managed to find one company that sells them in the US (link below). Does anyone know where I can get one in the UK? https://ebikeling.com/products/julet-9-pin-waterproof-motor-connector-to-molex-adapter-for-1500w-hub-motors P.s. happy to solder the controller connections, I just need the 9 Pin Julet female plug bit..... Cheers!
  3. Hi, DIY ebike builders! I have a fantastic home-built (Chinese) rear hub 1000W ebike conversion which I love, however I do fear at some point I'll get stopped by the Feds and my beloved ebike will be seized and crushed into a cube! I'd like to make it properly road legal when I'm commuting on the road but don't know how to limit the power. Reducing the top speed is easy on the KT-LCD3 display but not power. Can I just fit a lower rated controller or will this simply blow up, could I run the 48v, 1000W motor with a 36V battery to reduce the power output when I'm on the road? Or is there a better way? Any advice gratefully received!
  4. Hi, I currently own an 'offroad' Burisch bike which is great for my flat commute which is predominantly off-road. The issue is that I can only cruise at about 18-19mph but I'd like to increase this to 25-28 mph so I can reduce my 17 mile commute time. I've seen a few small e-bike buiders on e-bay that seem to offer what I'm looking for at a sensible price. These are Wing E-bikes: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-Bike-Carrera-Vengeance-eBike-2015-1000w-Very-Fast-48V-12ah-battery-/131512575057? and Hammer_Ebikes: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fast-Electric-Bike-30-mph-1000W-48V-battery-Disk-Brakes-Suspension-Forks/151682451753?_trksid=p2060778.c100276.m3476&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D31033%26meid%3D7c7b616582444d49b2293fc6273720cb%26pid%3D100276%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D151667564738 I was wondering if anyone on this site has had any experience with either of these?
  5. Hi Jim, I'm also planning to build a 48v 1000w kit (having outgrown my 36v 250w Burisch bike) and am currently trying to wade through the bewildering range of options. I'd be interested in how you got on with the build and it would be good to have a look if you're local. I'm in Kingsthorpe. Arby
  6. I'm a little wary of pairing this battery to a 1000w motor, when enquiring at BMS about using their version with integrated controller: http://www.bmsbattery.com/battery-pack/680-bottle-ebike-battery.html They advised if I wanted to run a 1000w motor I should be using their high C-rate packs instead. I wont be using this without a torque arm firmly in place:)
  7. Hi, These bottle batteries are a relatively new thing but I'm hoping to build a 25-30 mph bike using the latest 48v 11.6ah version, and a 1000w rear hub motor. Then I saw this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/50kph-speedLCD-system-48v-1000w-THD-electric-bicycle-conversion-kit-ebike-motor-kit-48v-11-6ah/1708620801.html Which seems to be exactly what I'm looking for in one handy kit!. Anyone have any experience of using these bottle batteries with high powered hub motors?
  8. Hi, I've got an off the shelf 36v Burisch bike and am looking to upgrade the electrics to a 48v system to give me a little more top speed (offroad). Obviously I'll need a new battery, charger, motor and controller but are components like break levers, throttle and PAS compatible with the higher voltage and higher (<50A) current? This is my first foray into self-build so appreciate the advice.
  9. Ah, ok. You can also get the same configuration (same bottle mounted case) with this spec: (I guess this is what I really need) 18650 cells 2900mAH , 52 cells with bms discharge cut-off voltage : 2.5v for one cell operating temperature discharge : -20°c to 60 °c 48v 11.6ah discharging current continous : 35amp 48v 11.6ah max discharging current : 50amp
  10. Addendum:Spec: Standard discharge 10±0.5A Maximum continuous discharge current 25±0.5A Discharge cut-off voltage ≥ 42V
  11. I've seen alot of these on e-bay, etc and would like to combine this with a 1000w rear hub kit to give me 25-27mph top speed BUT the seller suggests the limit for these cells is 800w. Why is this and does it make any difference that my commute is perfectly flat with no stop/starts? what might happen if I tried to use this battery with a larger motor?
  12. Hi Ripped, Thanks for the Info on the mosso. I'm also looking into getting the BBS02 kit and fitting it to a 29er (recreating what you have on the Mosso). You may have covered it elsewhere but what kind of range are you getting with the 12 (11.6?)ah battery?
  13. Great video, thanks fastelectricbike I'll be following in your footsteps when my current e-bike (Burisch) warranty expires, 20mph sometimes just isnt enough! On the legal side if you, like I, ride your 'moped' without attracting too much attention or antagonising other road users then the risk is well worth the reward! Unfortunately as the price of these kits drops and their popularity increases the chances of avoiding prosecution will inevitably diminish. But for now, Happy riding!
  14. Having taken a test ride a couple of weeks ago and been well and truly bitten by the e-bike bug I'm eagerly awaiting the delivery of my first bike (Burisch Synergy GT250). Review to follow...... BTW: Great forum and useful advice to newbies like me who know bikes inside and out, but electronics - nowt!
