  1. I bought a Haibike for commuting as I wasn't allowed to drive for a couple of years due to medical reasons. I got it derestricted from badass and could average 26mph on the flat. Amusing overtaking road bikes. Got to work far quicker than I could ever in the car As people said it does drain the battery quick. My old 2012 Haibike on 300w battery gave me around 16 miles on turbo mode derestricted Emtb gives you best of both worlds. Did 1800 miles on it in the end before selling to a friend. Now got a 2017 full sus model, not got it derestricted as I don't commute as much and do more off than on road so slower speeds anyways. 500w battery makes big diff too. Bare in mind the legals too. 2. I've just fitted the badass dongle today, so far so good. As you say speedo isn't accurate. It seems it gets up to 10mph then drops down to 4mph upwards to about 9 on the unit, can't seem to make it much past that but maybe i need to hit a few downhills. Are we saying after 10mph you X3? so 5mph is actually 15mph? Does the range lie as it thinks you have more in the tank than actually do? I guess this won't really decrease battery life, if you're doing less than 16.5mph anyways most of the time you will be using the same battery usage as before?
  3. Hi all. Anyone know if there's any software updates for the head unit that can be installed? Does this need to be done at the dealer if there is one? Thanks
  4. Do it over 2 days to make it more enjoyable. Head down Fri night, start Winchester in the morn. Stop around 30 miles for recharge at a pub, back home sat night in bton then second leg Sunday which should last one charge just about.
  5. SRS, yep you got it. I was covered in green slime at the time on the seafront, teach me for trying to jump up large curbs. Remember you telling me your rather unfortunate theft situation. I'm hoping it's resolved by the end of the month. The shop are hiring me 4 other Haibikes (one of which I'm currently riding). 5 of us are cycling the South Downs way weekend on the 2nd August. Going to do a bit of a write up on electric off road bikes after. If anyone wants to joins at any stage along the route welcome to.
  6. Thanks for the info chaps. Yep due to the time scales I think a loan bike is really useful if you can. These Generation 2 Bosch systems which seem to be coming out, do folks think they're much better?
  7. Think you should look at the 29" off road Haibike as a trade in, it handles really well both on and offroad. I've pretty much been out on it everyday for last 3 months.
  8. Anyone had a issue the Bosch drive system, I've recently (around 10 times in the last 2 weeks) lost all chain movement, the pedals just spin freely when riding (usually coasting along just before). You have to spin the pedals for about 5-10 seconds and it engages again. The guys at mailorderbikes in Shoreham have been superb, swapped over all my parts on my bike to a spare frame and drive they had while they see if they can get the other repaired/replaced by Haibike. We suspect the internal drive is somehow not engaging or slipping. Any ideas? Thanks.
  9. Two lovely rides there, let us know on getting out. Be good to get a few sussex folk out.
  10. Yep ride sounds good, like to see how some other electrics fair and not have to wait around for others Was just riding through that rave by coincidence, was very bizarre and caused a fair bit of mess indeed.
  11. I'm based in Portslade, just near Brighton. That shot is up on the downs 2 minutes from my house. What is BH!? Lovelly looking bike BTW. If you're Sussex based we should go for a ride sometime. Friston forest is on my list at some point, perhaps not until it's been checked for traps! You guys might be interested in this youtube vid of me a few weeks back on the haibike of a rave up on the south downs way. I chucked it up as a laugh and before I knew it had over a million views!
  12. Yep I use my Haibike SL29 off road a fair bit, as fun uphill as it is down..http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/25/e3y4yqy8.jpg
  13. I have a haibike sl29, love it. Use it everyday now. 29" wheels. You can get around 40 miles out of it and one of the high powered modes. The Bosch drive system very good and mounted above the lower bike frame (unlike some of the other brands) so it is less likely to get hit on bumpy tracks. Handles off-road really well as on. So much fun up the hills as well as down. Downside £2.5k plus
  14. Where can these be purchased from? I've got a 2014 SL29 Haibike so not sure if it will for this one?
  15. Did anyone find a smaller battery, I think a 100-200watt get me out of jail one would be handy.
