  1. You might be able to fit any throttle, you might be able to unplug the pedal assist! I CAN'T and I have been talked out of keeping the one bike I was happy with by well meaning people who thought I'd be better with a trike, I can only use a low step through bike so the bike type is very relevant. I can't buy a bike that suits me without having to have it changed ebike that is but I can find a normal bike that's ok much easier, I do only have about £500 to spend and don't want to end up having to replace a battery on a 2nd hand bike so even if you think me stupid and female a kit with a new battery seems the most logical solution. I didn't know there were so many different sized wheeled and again I don't think that's my fault, yes I'm having to learn from mistakes but when you're on a budget there's not a lot of choice about that. I want a bike that will go along cycle paths as well as to the shops that has a good range and is easy to use and get on and off. As to whether people reply well I'm not forcing them to so if I annoy then don't answer. Can I also add that I do have a hubby who's willing to try most things unfortunately he doesn't write/spell well enough to write on the forums, I have to and try to deal understand things that I'm having to learn, believe me if he could do this instead of me that would suit me fine. I also think that clever though you might be you have a most arrogant/rude attitude and one I can well do without.
  2. we're going to try a different approach ebikes have a 700c wheel kit, the same price, so we're having one of those and I've found a nice Raleigh in that size, we'll sell the other one, fingers and everything else crossed it works, I need a bit of luck.
  3. thanks for offer but I did have a nice sturdy folder and everyone said I looked to big on it and I must admit it did seem to be more unstable than a larger wheeled bike but I did like the one I had.
  4. many thanks I've already had a couple of ebikes and they've all needed changing in some way or other to suit me and hubby can't do the changes, I was stupid to sell my last but got talked into buying a trike by the family who felt I wasn't safe on two wheels anymore. The trike was a very costly disaster and I'd had to sell the ebike to fund it, its hard to find a step through frame with a twist grip throttle and no pedal assist, the last one had to be changed by a very nice member on here and I can't ask again, I can sell the Cinzia but found it just the right size for me and never anticipated not being able to get a kit for it. What sort of size wheel/bike should I look for if we try again, what would a 50-550 26x1 95 be known as? it has to be low step through and all I keep seeing is 24, 26, 28 inch which is obviously something different to what I would call a bike in those sizes. The kit with the wheel in that size is in my price range and has a throttle and pannier battery which is what I want, so it seems I look for a bike to fit the kit and not the other way around.
  5. Oh well its sounds like I'm either going to have to buy another ebike or start again and buy another normal bike to change or give up and walk.
  6. its the Liberty model and the tyre says 37-590 650 x 35A 26 x 1 3/8
  7. I'd need the whole kit though and am on a limited budget having lost so much money with sending things back, we wouldn't know what to buy if it didn't come with all the other bits and peices
  8. Right now ebikes have a kit including the wheel size 50-550-26x1.95 tyre size, is that a 650B? or any good to me with a standard 26in on the back, please help as I'm pulling my hair out
  9. whats a 650B kit and isn't that the one with the smaller wheel, I'd then have a bigger back wheel ? would that be ok to use
  10. I have a Cinzia ladies low step through bike with a standard (old fashioned) 26 inch wheel and I want a kit for it, preferably twist throttle and pannier battery. I've tried two companies so far Panda and Ebikes , Panda sent out what they said was a 26 in but it was much smaller I've had a thread going about it in things for sale under the trike carrier I'm selling. Ebikes are checking but they to think they have a different 26in. Don't ask me the differences, I like my bike which is in as new condition having never been used buy the seller and have just bought for conversion. I don't want a thumb throttle as I use the throttle to get going ( I mount the old fashioned ladies way) and don't want pedal assist, any suggestions?
  11. I'm having a job to find a kit that has a standard 26 inch wheel (ladies step through bike) and someone suggested if I bought the kit it would be possible to remove the hub/motor and put it into my wheel with different spokes. Does this sound feasible and does anyone know who could do it for me, many thanks
  12. by then I'll probably be to old and decrepid to walk let alone ride a bike or on a mobility scooter, by thanks for that info where would I find the thread about throttles? Can I add that I'm a very 'fat' nearly 60 year old nana and never go very fast. I'm not built for speed but hubby wanted me to have a bit of power as he got fed up with me walking up every hill however slight, at least we now get somewhere, I also have very bad arthritic legs/knees so all in all I'd be more likely to be stopped for going to slow or riding on the path than for speeding.
  13. All my previous e bikes have been bought ready made but all have needed changing in some way so this time we thought we'd try doing it as I want/need but if I can't get a wheel then I may have to start all over again.
  14. you've lost me there but I think they are called Ebike again on ebay but I had a job to find a kit with a twist throttle and I know they are now illegal but I don't think my thumbs are strong enough to use a thumb throttle and and I need the throttle to get going on the bike, as I mount the 'scoot' ladies way need to be able to both hold the handlebars and throttle to get on. I have no probs doing this with a normal throttle which I've always been used to and don't want/need pedal assist.
  15. You'r confused ? think how I felt
