  1. Thanks for that, may give them a ring in the morning.
  2. Thanks for the info. May look at recelling as well, but spare battery could well be the way forward then.
  3. Please direct me if this is an answered question, a few threads came very close but would like some specific help please. My wife's e-bike has 24v 10ah battery and the range is about 20 miles as she really finds it hard to pedal a great deal. We are trying to increase the range to go on longer rides. I can purchase another battery from Europe for 200 euros. If she carries that she'll get double the range with a change. However, can I change the cells inside the case and increase the range? Is this fairly straight forward, I have no issues with soldering etc. And you guys helped me fix the bike a while back, so no qualms dabbling but not an electrical engineer either! If possible please point me to a safe supplier. Otherwise I'll buy the spare battery! Thanks!
  4. Gorgeous. I think it may take some saving up.
  5. Thanks, will let you know how I get on.
  6. Are there any you would recommend - reviews seem to vary wildly on amazon? Thanks
  7. Will do! I was concerned about this.
  8. Great, many thanks will give them a go. It has to be an improvement on what I have at the moment.
  9. Yes, that would help! http://www.wayscral.com/en/electric-bike/14-velo-a-assistance-electrique-wayscral-w402-noir.html So a Chinese step through.
  10. Went for first decent ride of 20 miles yesterday - fabulous. The bike ate the hills and my wife who has real knee issues was fine. However, the v-brakes on a 25 kg bike were even worse than I'd thought. Full braking takes far too long, no chance of stopping in an emergency. Just wondered if there is anything I can do about it? Would better pads help? Any recommendations? Can they be changed for a different type of brake? I assume that disc brakes are out of the question as I am guessing you need special attachments on the frame? Any advice welcome.

  12. Thanks as usual. That's exactly what I want to do! Using the brake wire is such an elegant solution.
  13. I have a basic power controller on the handlebars that allows low, medium or high power when pedalling. The problem is, to turn off all power I have to hold the + button for several seconds, which is a right pain whilst cycling. Can I upgrade the unit so I can cut all power or would that require a new controller as well? If so, could anyone post a link please? Many thanks. Sorry can't post a picture at work but it's in this thread a few posts down: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/hello-and-help-please.18913/
  14. It's just that I'm 40 in March...might have to think about what I'm getting for my planned crisis!
  15. Any idea of how much I need to save by April?
