February 15, 201511 yr I've been looking for a folding ebike to use in conjunction with my motorhome. I've don a lot of reading and searching the net. I've decided on a folder as I have an ordinary folder and like it but I'm in my 70's now and my legs are beginning to weaken. I've done some calculatios and decided I need a minimum of 12ah. I've also got down to two bikes... The Volt Metro and the Freego Folder both with the 16ah batteries. The Freego is the cheaper and sounds OK for what I need. Does anyone know better please????
February 15, 201511 yr I am not familiar with the Volt. However, the newest version of the Freego Folder and its price are impressive. Backed up by a great warrenty it should be a good choice.

Thanks for that. I'm concerned about battery an motor on the Freego. I don't know what they are. The Volt has a Bafang motor and a lithium poly battery, I like the idea of both of those.
February 15, 201511 yr The Feego has a lithium battery and a proven (across many brands) 8 fun motor. I rode a Freego Eagle, with the same motor and system for just over a year. It never gave me a moments trouble. I now ride a BH City 700c. The reason I went to this bike was that it was a tourque sensing bike with 700c wheels. Freego does not have a model like this or I would have one. You will like the Freego Folder. Go test ride one and be sure :-)

The fun 8 will do me very nicely, I was hoping it would be the Bafang fun8. I am also happy with the lithium battery. Cheers
February 16, 201511 yr I think there's a £100 cash back offer on Freego bikes this month. I'll see if I've still got the email about it when I get into my laptop.

February 16, 201511 yr Our Compact Folder uses similar components but also has a 12ah option, which may well save you some unnecessary spend...

February 16, 201511 yr Author Can you not order it on-line before then? I need two bikes, one for me and one for my wife. As we haven't tried one It's a bit risky. There is also about 30 cm difference in height between us, so one may do an the other may not do. It's a pity but there it is ( sods law ).
February 16, 201511 yr Author Can you not order it on-line before then? Hi Sheffmax, I forgot to mention that I am using a campsite wifi, and it is not a good idea to do banking transactions over unsecured connections.
February 17, 201511 yr Have you handled an ebike? They are heavy, even heavier with a 16ah battery. Lifting it in and out of the motorhome may not be easy, although removing the battery will help.
February 17, 201511 yr Author Hi RobF No I havn't handled on yet Have you handled an ebike? They are heavy, even heavier with a 16ah battery. Lifting it in and out of the motorhome may not be easy, although removing the battery will help. HiRobF I posted a longer reply but it seem to be lost in the ether. I only have to lift the bikes about 40 cm. I have lots of acquaintences in the motorhome community in my age group who manage. But I know where you are comming from and appreciate it. Cheers
