Can any 36v Panasonic battery built for their mid mount motor systems work in any era of 36v motor?

Specifically can this battery-

To clarify everything in question is 36v, Panasonic and intend for mid motor.

    Did more searching and found the answer.

    No. The Next Generation battery is bigger at the base. The silver is the older one, the black is the Next Gen.
