July 29, 201510 yr I have been using a folding e-bike for about 18 months but now want to add a non-folding bike to my collection - and one that has more power (for hills) and more Ah, for distance. However, I want the option of changeability between my current bike and the one I will buy - which means I am looking to buy a bike that can use a frog battery, as this is what my folding bike uses. Thanks to help and guidance elsewhere on the forums, I know that a more powerful frog battery has implications for my existing bike - but I can deal with that. So.....just wondering if anyone can recommend a non-folding bike that costs less than £800 and which uses a frog type battery?
July 31, 201510 yr Author Hmmm, I guess the frog battery isn't one that is used much in the sort of bike I'm looking for. I think I will bite the bullet, and go for something completely different (I'm thinking Woosh's Big Bear!)
August 2, 201510 yr The frog battery is no longer popular amongst e-bike importers. On diamond shape frames the down tube seemed a better balanced location and on step thru a rack mount seems preferred. On folders the battery within the frame seems preferred. The frog battery was vulnerable to the bracket cracking adjacent to the seat post, usually when a bike was used over rough terrain. The battery which seems most common in use is the bottle style battery...the Vita bike sold by the London Electric Bike Company at £699.00 looks good value, whilst stocks last. There is a Kudos Cobra,ex-demo bike on e-bay at the moment,Rally Design e-bay shop,it has a few scratches from demo rides but otherwise ok,last time I looked it had reached £400.00 KudosDave Edited August 2, 201510 yr by Kudoscycles

Very useful. And thanks for the tips re the alternatives, I might well take a look.
