Schwalbe Smart Sam Plus

Featured Replies

I decided to buy one Schwalbe smart Sam plus for my Typhoon. I stuck it on the rear since that's the hardest to fix a puncture if you need to take the wheel off. I've done about 100 miles with it and must say, I like it. It rolls smooth and more importantly, it's quiet. The standard tyres whine like a turbo when on smooth tarmac. Now only the front makes a noise. A second smart sam plus should take care of that next week.

I also run smart Sam plus tyres an I think they roll as well as my big apples and yes they are quiet.

I'll not be change them till they need it and that may be quite some time.

I may consider the new marathon mtb 29ers next time for the extra bit of protection ( I've had a couple of hawthorn punchers but that was in the sidewall)

Another thumbs up for smart Sam plus tyres. This weekend I gave them some significant punishment on rocky off road tracks and no issues whatsoever. I also use slime in my tubes as a belt and braces approach.

After around 500 miles my rear tyre is beginning to show signs of wear though.
