December 17, 201510 yr hey all, received a kudos typhoon today (amazing looking bike for the money) and only managed a very quick play, first time on one and loved it massively.... Just saw a post that says if you stick it in the lowest gear and just pedal or take the chain off it will still propel you at the top speed ? Is that right ? I would have thought wind/hill/gearing etc etc would stop it getting to 15.5mph ? Btw, can't test this now as bike is at work lol.... Just curious Cheers Og

It has a simple pedal sensor which means, as long as the pedals are turning, even slowly, the motor will give full power if it's set to power level 5. It will go along a flat road like that and will go over the 15.5 mph cut out which then cuts the motor. The motor will cut in again as the speed drops. It will also climb slopes up to about 6 or 7% with no effort from you other than turning the pedals. It won't climb steep hills like that though. A head wind will slow it down on the flat a bit but the bike will still carry you along. It's great when you're feeling tired or lazy. . The battery range will decrease a fair bit though if you're letting the bike do all the work.

Thanks jimod, I have only been about a mile on the flat so far and liked it a lot, just a lot of tips help as its my first experience of an electric bike... I must admit it does seem like quite a nice bit of kit and think at £885 is quite a reasonable price when compared to a lot of others.... It seems more power and 27.5 inch wheels you need to spend quite a bit more.... Luckily its main job is a 2 mile commute more than anything else so full power it is lol shame you can't make the walk assist thumb throttle a full throttle, that would be perfect for me cheers Og

This is handy as it saves you changing power levels when you meet a steepish hill,

Spending more money will not gain you any more power than the Typhoon and often a lot less. The only way to get more power is to go to an S class bike which I am sure you know is illegal. KudosDave

KudosDave Or I will just use my motorbike lol On a serious note, from my experience so far I have no complaints whatsoever with kudos cycles, I was also quite surprised to see my bike came with mudguards, kickstand and lights which I didn't know it came with, so the whole kit is a nice surprise. When I get a few more miles done next week I will give a better review from a newbie experience .... Cheers og
December 19, 201510 yr ... take the chain off it will still propel you at the top speed ? Is that right ? I would have thought wind/hill/gearing etc etc would stop it getting to 15.5mph ? Yes, on relatively flat roads, that's correct.

Cheers og When we first launched the mountain style e-bike range we put the mudguards, lights and kickstand as an option pack because we thought most customers would want to keep the bike as light as possible. But almost 100% of customers wanted the option so we now include as part of the standard spec. Look forward to your review of this bike. KudosDave
