It isn't cheap: 500€

But just imagine with a 35 tooth cog = the equivalent of a 53-35 chainring. 14 well spaced gears to go head to head with the Rohloff at half the price... And a nice straight chainline because only one sprocket on the front.

As you say very important bit of kit

On non powered bikes then brilliant , this with a alfine 8 on a 29er hardtial would be a fantastic go anywhere, do anything bike bullet proof bike

But why add 500 to an ebike which , I'd argue, doesn't really need 16 over 8 gears

What am I missing?!

Come ride around Hendaye a bit with me. Or Errenteria

Some places just need that extended range - a nice big cog for downhill and flats and a small cog for some of the climbs. Pinion gives that range. In a special frame for more weight. Or you can have a front derailleur for less cost and weight.

I think this is an elegant solution for a single front cog narrow cassette transmission. The single front cog can be enveloped in a Hebie Chainglider.
