August 27, 20178 yr There used to be a similar scheme in London Tom, volunteer cyclists in Lewisham provided trike transport for pensioners to go shopping and the like. I don't know if it's still going. .

Yes, I'm quite sure that in the UK if the concept became popular, some entrepreneurial type like Branson or those of his ilk would commercialise that kind of decent charitable gesture and charge hospitals, hospices and old people's homes for the service, creating a national network with a board of directors and a CEO paid no less that quarter of a million per annum.....plus expenses!
