July 9, 20196 yr Most charges I have used only have 2 active wires, the positive and negative that goes into the battery. This old charger actually has the + & - but also has a blue/white/yellow combo going into the charger. Does someone know the purpose of these 3 wires? What are they communicating to the charger? Are they necessary? Can we replace this charger with a standard 42V + / - charger if we attach the old connector and just solder the +/- wires in to the new charger?
April 9Apr 9 Some of the Phylion/Joycube batteries with 5 pin plugs are as below. The battery may not charge with a two wire charger unless you loop 4 & 5 as below,which is not safe as you are shorting out some of the safety features . Edited April 9Apr 9 by Sturmey
