Stretching dropout s

Featured Replies

All you need to do is put M6 washers between the caliper and the frame to make it line up with the disc.

Yes I originally planned to set the caliper 5mm inwards, but then the (BB7) caliper would be touching the j-bends of the spokes, so I can't get away with it.

I could get a thinner caliper, but it's more faffing than just putting the disc rotor spacers on.

When you add so much stretch to the rear dropouts, you might find that the rear wheel might need to be "dished". Spacers at the brake disk can make this even worse, so be prepared for geometry adjustments.

I am adding 5mm of spacers to the inside of the NDS dropout that will send the rim 5mm that way > then tightening the NDS spokes to get the rim 5mm that way <

5 -5 = 0 :p

My spokes are 2.5mm so I don't want uneven tension if I can fix it and, along with disc rotor spacers, this should fix it.
