December 6, 20196 yr Author Thats an electric motorbike. You'll need a plates, license etc anyway I'm not trying to put you off going electric..... Just electric bicycles. You might be confusing the two From.their own page " Driver's license While other road users are still at the traffic lights, you are already gone with the eROCKIT. eROCKIT is an electric motorcycle comparable to the 125cc category. Driving on public roads in Europe requires a driving license of class A, A1 or A2. Sure, but it says you can still pedal them?
December 6, 20196 yr Sure, but it says you can still pedal them? So it's an electric motorbike with pedals? So what? The forum( and the seller here) have explained the law a few times. You can't stick pedals on a electric motorbike and call it a legal bicycle anymore than you can stick pedals on a harley Davison.... And call it a legal bicycle
December 6, 20196 yr Sure, but it says you can still pedal them? Yep, back in the 70s all the 16 year olds had 45m.p.h. mopeds. All fitted with pedals. NOBODY ever pedalled them more than 10 feet before they realised that it was practically impossible.

December 6, 20196 yr They say it's road legal? Are you trolling It is a legal MOTORBIKE Look at Auto trader. It is full of road legal motorbikes Road legal doesn't mean its a bicycle
December 6, 20196 yr Hi, It looks like it's an 80 mile round trip. I thought the speed pedelecs get up to 28Mph? Thanks That's not going to work. In my prime, I was a hardened motorcyclist doing 40,000 miles a year in all weathers on a motorbike and commuting 35 miles each way. In the winter, that commute wasn't very pleasant. Speed pedelecs can reach 28 mph in the right conditions, but your cruising speed will be closer to 22 mph, and your average, maybe 18mph. That's just too slow. 15 miles is about what an average person can manage, and those with a strong constitution and some experience can do 25 miles. You have no chance. Your backside will be burning before you even reach halfway. Edited December 6, 20196 yr by vfr400
December 6, 20196 yr Author Are you trolling It is a legal MOTORBIKE Look at Auto trader. It is full of road legal motorbikes Road legal doesn't mean its a bicycle Sure, I'm aware it's a road legal motorbike. I'm saying surely this could do it then? Ie: it's not a bike, and rather a motorbike but would suit me? I didn't say it's a bicycle either.
December 6, 20196 yr Can you afford 11000 Euros? why not buy a Zero electric motorbike in the UK they cost £10,000 my m8s does around 80 miles to the charge and does 90 MPH but to be sure you would need to maybe top up at work (kettle Lead)
December 6, 20196 yr Sure, but it says you can still pedal them? There's no point to the pedals, in practice you won't be able to contribute anything as Wander has said. The motor will outrun anything you do, and if you don't use the motor the Rockit will be terrible to pedal. Very often the pedals on such as these are put there since in some countries they are lax enough to allow them to be used unregistered as bicycles. For the peanuts they cost it increases their market. .
December 6, 20196 yr How about this? https://www.erockit.de/en/about/ It's road legal in Germany, so should hopefully be road legal here? Failing that, I could get my CBT and get a Honda 125 or whatever it's called eRockit is only legal as a group A licence motor cycle in Germany, as in all Europe including here. The same as a Honda CB125 . .
December 6, 20196 yr 190 mpg doesn't do any harm to the environment. Cheaper, faster and more comfortable than an electric bicycle., plus cheaper running costs. If you want some exercise, you can always get off and push it the last mile. https://www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/range/125cc/super-cub-c125/specifications.html

December 6, 20196 yr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlxZs2-gICc:586 40 miles in 20 mins You'll have anonymous in an anonymous grave!!
December 6, 20196 yr Huh. So you'd be better off buying a scooter, and get up to 70Mph, and then exercising later? If you want 70mph then a 50cc scooter is not going to get anywhere near that.
December 6, 20196 yr If you want 70mph then a 50cc scooter is not going to get anywhere near that. True but a 125 should get a lot closer, no?

I could afford it, and it's fairly easy to justify to myself. I just thought I could get exercise too! This being said, I'm thinking long term if anything. I wouldn't go out and spend 11K on a first motorbike. I'd want something super cheap first, given that it's better to have a few scrapes on a cheap bike than an expensive bike

Range and top speed definitely reduced in cold weather.
December 6, 20196 yr True but a 125 should get a lot closer, no? 125cc scooter possibly reach 70mph but would have a comfortable cruising speed of around 50ish?
December 6, 20196 yr I have a mate with a very expensive electric BMW scooter. Range and top speed definitely reduced in cold weather. Thats an intersting point and something anecdotally reported on this forum with Ebikes too With a scooter I guess you can't recharge and store in the warm so easily so it seems worse perhaps?

December 6, 20196 yr It isn't just an anecdotal thing tbh All batteries suffer in the cold https://www.thoughtco.com/why-batteries-discharge-quickly-cold-weather-607889 Yes, worse still, AFAIK, is charging them when cold. It's one thing to use a charged battery from cold and another to charge a battery when cold

The first scrape on a powered two wheeler is all too often the last one ever. Safest is to buy something so expensive that you take great care never to damage it, and yourself in consequence. .

Six months later as I become more confident, I bought a car that cost around 5 times the amount of my first one
