June 14, 20205 yr I have restored a Specialized Hardrock frame. I am going to install a Bafang HD on it, the forks I have chosen are Manitou Markhor. I need some help with tires. I want something that will do canal paths and roads. Can you recommend some, please? The tires are 26x2. Also a chain suitable for the Bafang motor. Thank you
June 14, 20205 yr https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/tyres/26-x-175-inch-47559-schwalbe-marathon-plus-tour-hs404-tyre-26-inch-559/ Great puncture resistance and good for light off road and road. I’ve done about 4000 miles on a set without a puncture. Not the cheapest though!
June 14, 20205 yr https://www.bike-components.de/en/Schwalbe/Magic-Mary-Evolution-ADDIX-Soft-Super-Gravity-26-Folding-Tyre-p57320/ i have the 27.5 ones and run tubeless and never had a flat tyre but bloody heavy tho and a pita to fit on my mavic rims and have a hans damp on the rear.
June 14, 20205 yr you can make any rim tubeless with rim tape but tl ready rims dont have spoke holes so no need for rim tape. it just depends how tight a fit the tyre on the rim is but you can add more rim tape for a tighter fit. problem is when you start running a low psi in the tyre you run the risk of blowing it off the rim esp when jumping. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CfCuQV1yWA:841
June 14, 20205 yr Dmr motos work pretty well for light gravel. I normally run Schwalbe Big Apples, but use more gravel paths at the mo, so the DMR are a perfect.
