March 3Mar 3 One doesn't open the other side, the motor core has to be extracted with a puller to over come the motor winding/magnetic force field ,. As said: the sun gear assembly won't pass beyond the ring gear that has a smaller diameter! March 4Mar 4 ...and more generally, would any hub motor devotee help out this mid-drive rider, and explain whether opening both sides is normal / unusual / unheard of? My engineering brain gets unhappy considering the structural implications of both sides being separable.
March 6Mar 6 So, it appears many hub motors open on one side only. In this case the point is how to remove de gear ring! Shall it be threaded, or I have just to pul it out in some way?
